Infinite heart eyes for Clarissa + Alex’s Melbourne nups. Planning their special day started with Google searches like “intimate, minimalist, wedding with lots of plants”, but beyond aesthetics, the goal for this pair was to cultivate a homely, welcoming atmosphere where family and friends felt treasured. Mission accomplished!
Oh, and the vendor team! Alex and Clarissa sure know how to pick the best of the best. Little Wolf Entertainment got the party going, Fourside Food Design and Events took care of the feasting, Peppermint Press were in charge of pretty papergoods and Ladybird Cakes was responsible for the cake – a two-tiered buttercream masterpiece topped with fresh raspberries – almost too pretty to eat!
The newlyweds also described their Celebrant/MC Precious Celebrations as “a gem to work with” (hard agree from us) and their photographer Maegan Brown Moments as “such a vibe”. “Maegan has an incredible talent for turning something simple into stunning art, and blended effortlessly into the energy of the day.” Loved up moments plus plenty of inspo below (so get those Pinterest boards out!)
THE VENUE “A quick Google search led us to Glasshaus. It was the first and only place we visited. We held our ceremony at Glasshaus Inside, which we loved for its industrial edge and natural lighting. Just adding some pillar candles ended up softening the space. As for [our reception space] Glasshaus Brucke, we were drawn to the architecture. We added our own touches of bright flowers, tapered candles and overhanging linen to lift the space. The best part was the place evolved into a moody, romantic space as night fell.”
FAVE DETAILS “We had written personal letters to each of our guests. They doubled as seating cards, [thanks to Peppermint Press], and it was such a joy to secretly watch everyone discover there were letters in the envelopes with their names on them. Before we even entered the reception, our phones were buzzing with messages from our friends and family. It hit the brief in making everyone in the room feel as important as we did.”
COOL CUSTOM “From the very start, we knew we didn’t want a bridal party. Instead, we wanted to include our immediate families in our celebration. So we had our families walk down the aisle and have their reception entrances just like a bridal party. We gave each sibling a job, and with only our grandmothers left, we thought it would be fitting to have them serve as our ring bearers. Alex had also arranged pendants of our other grandparents who have passed, which our parents wore on them as they walked down the aisle.”
WE’RE GLAD WE “Many people warned us that we’d have limited time together on the actual day, so we decided to drive from the ceremony to the next location. We’re so glad we did. It gave us the chance to soak in the experience just the two of us and enjoy some chill time amidst the chaos.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “All of our vendors were absolute stars. But if we were to hand out emojis to our key vendors, the chef’s kiss emoji goes to Precious Celebrations. What a gem to work with. From the very beginning, she made us feel so comfortable. The way she tailored our ceremony to match our vision perfectly – oozing calm, spreading love, and then seamlessly stepping into the role of MC for the evening, matching our family’s hyped energy. We had complete trust in her ability to ensure everything flowed smoothly throughout the night, and we didn’t have a worry in the world.”
