We’ve got a big ol’ crush on Anjali and Dylan’s coastal nups. Tathra, NSW, is where it went down; a chill little town where the groom and his kin often spend their summers. Think out-of-this-world ocean views. Oh, and a cozy pizza place just down the road, serving as a perfect ceremony spot — the cherry (tomato) on top.
“The best photographer ever” is what the couple had to say about their lens lady Bel Combridge, and we can see why; have ya caught a glance at those happy snaps?! THE VENUE “It was really hard to pick. Living in the city, especially in this economy, it was a really hard time for us to figure it out; we were just going back and forth constantly. We saw a handful of venues, which were all out of our budget, not our aesthetics, or an unreasonable [distance] for our family and friends. We started to do some in-depth chatting and kind of wanted to go to one of our favourite places with a blank canvas to do whatever we liked without any restrictions. We landed in Tathra, on the far south coast of NSW, a very small, laid-back, beachy town. My husband’s family have gone there every summer for over a decade. Then we picked the Surf Life Saving Club — the amazing view of the ocean was too good to keep looking for a possible venue. We were walking along the main road and passed by a pizza place that had a lovely little beer garden at the back, which was the perfect blank canvas we were after. So we got in contact with the owners (who had never hosted a wedding ceremony before, probably because it’s a pizza place). They were hesitant, but soon after thrilled for the business opportunity. It turned out to be absolutely beautiful; the ceremony setup is my favourite part of our wedding.”
THE VIBE “I wanted the aesthetics of our wedding to feel happy and lively. I really wanted it to feel like a celebration rather than traditional. So the theme we went with is soft, colourful and simple.”
THE DRESS “My dress is from Love Marie Bridal, and the designer is &ForLove. I absolutely loved my dress – it was whimsical, elegant and comfortable. I could not have imagined myself in anything else for my big day.”
FAVE DETAILS “Hands down, our favourite part of our wedding was our ceremony setup; it was absolutely beautiful. After a week of rain and another week of rain forecasted, not a single drop of rain was felt on the big day. The weather was beautiful and the colours were perfect. I also have to say another favourite part of our wedding was having the ocean a few meters away from us, looking at the sunset as the night went by, feeling the ocean breeze and ceiling-to-floor windows that allowed this view to be simply spectacular. The most perfect beach wedding ever!
A WORD OF ADVICE… “Take it easy. At the end of the day, it’s a celebration and not an exam; you don’t need to get a perfect 100 mark. Everyone says this, but the day does go by so fast. Make sure you pause for a minute throughout the day and take it all in. The morning after our wedding, we both just woke up and went, “Wow, that was the best day ever”, because it was truly so fun. Weddings are fun, not serious!!”
