As Louise came back home from a day out with friends, she noticed a note pinned to their door, reading ‘meet me down the back’. As she walked around the corner to the backyard she was met by Andrew, bent on one knee. Having spent the afternoon setting up fairy lights with the help of his buddies, Andrew had also organised for a private chef to cook the couple dinner-post proposal (she said yes of course!)

Keeping in theme with the beautiful sandstone of The Cell Block Theatre, they kept the tone of the wedding simple and romantic, with food by Gallivant Events and a whole lot of greenery from She Designs to complement the venue. In the lead up to their day, Louise purchased over 100 tiny succulents, which she re-planted at her mother’s house. “She watered and nurtured them as if they were her children, closely monitoring them for any signs they were dying.” A week before her wedding, Louise replanted the little guys into tiny pots, hand painted with a thank you note to each of their guests.

Four weeks out from their wedding Louise had a change of heart with her dress, adding, “style is huge to me and I just knew that I needed to feel like me on the day. I then went on a mad search to find it.” She discovered the wonderful work of the Karen Willis Holmes girls, who miraculously managed to create a gown for her in the short time span. “From their staff in the store to Sue the lovely seamstress, they were all lovely and helped in any way they could.”

Enlisting the work of photographer Alex Marks, the couple were blown away with his professionalism and ease, adding he was fun to work with and made everyone feel comfortable.
