They eloped during COVID (“it turned into a viral Tik Tok reaching 500k views, then got picked up by Daily Mail Australia and the rest of the world,” says the bride) but the one we are bringing you today is this urban delight, six months later. THE VENUE “The Calile Hotel is just the most beautiful place to get married in Brisbane, best service, best food, so aesthetic.”
THE INSPO “The vibe was a little camp/extra mixed with minimal. That’s my (Kaitlin) vibe. We had hints of velvet and pastel, mixed with elegant simple touches.”
FAVE DETAILS “Am I allowed to say my Prea James Bridal sleeves? I loved my mum’s Zimmermann dress, I think she looked so beautiful.”
THE DRESS “The second I put it on I felt like Jackie O, and knew it was perfect. However I wanted to make some customisations and asked to extend the sleeves to look like gloves, I really wanted to wear something that hadn’t been done before. Matt and the groomsmen’s suits were an absolute steal, we got them from The Iconic for $60 each (orginally over $300), I think because it was coming in to Summer when I purchased them and they are velvet after all.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “Quiet reflection before the day started with my maid of honour and sister. We drank coffee and had a beautiful breakfast at The Calile and spent time journalling, I just felt so much peace and excitement. Another one of my favourite moments was just stopping and being present with Matt and our amazing videograpahy/photography team, Milk and Honey Creative in the tunnel area at The Calile Hotel in between the ceremony and reception.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Two weddings is underrated. I really loved the experience of having just family for our first one, I definitely felt more present with our nearest and dearest and I feel like people really miss out on that with one big wedding.”
