Hello May fave Light & Type was there to capture every moment. Scroll down for the details…

THE VENUE “We looked at about 6 venues in both Melbourne and Sydney. We had family in both areas so we had the luxury of being able to double our options. We found photos of Panama Dining Room online. We booked a tour and were immediately in love. Not much consideration was required after that. It was all about the vibe for us, we wanted our Sydney guests to get a real Melbourne experience and to us, Panama just represented that hidden secret vibe that we loved about Melbourne.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “I was set on a having a big budget looking table with as many beautiful flowers as we could afford. I worked closely with Lucie [Lulu Bird] and Allie [Table Art] trying to pick the best combination of linens and florals, which required several trips to look at samples and discuss options. These two ladies were a dream team and were so tolerant of my complete inability to commit.”

DIY…”There were a few little DIY projects here and there, the main ones being our printing which I designed using templates I purchased off Etsy. The menus I printed at home on our little $40 inkjet printer with cardstock I purchased from Target for $5. Luke had the job one afternoon of sitting on the floor with a beer re-loading 100 pieces of cardstock as I individually printed everyone’s names on the menus. I was very happy with how they turned out in the end, and they saved us a lot of money that I could then direct to the more important things.”

THE DRESS “I didn’t spend a huge amount of time on my dress. I knew from the start that I was looking for something simple and elegant and there weren’t many designers that really achieved modern elegance quite like One Day bridal. My dress was one of the last ones I tried on and my mum, sister and I knew it was the one. I tried on a few dresses at other designers after this but my mind was made up and I called off the search pretty early on in the wedding planning process.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Before the wedding, I really connected with Lucie our florist [Lulu Bird]. I came home after initially meeting her to get a quote and said to Luke, “Babe, I just like her as a person and that’s enough for me”. This was the best decision I ever made as she was so incredibly helpful leading up to the event and I 110% trusted that whatever she did would be exactly what I wanted. Then, on the day our photographer, Nic [Light & Type] was an absolute standout and a dream to have around. She provided the perfect amount of direction but also blended into the background and allowed us to enjoy ourselves and be in the moment.”
