Together for five and a half years, Tallia & Jason’s big day was all about celebrating a native Australian colour palette, traditions and supporting local vendors. Most importantly, the couple’s Daschund’s, Freddy & Ziggy, were there to make sure things ran smoothly. With HM fave Ashleigh Haase Photography on their side, Tallia & Jason’s wedding day was a breeze. Scroll down for details…

FAVOURITE DETAILS “It began with Matthew from Coastal Kombis. He was this shining light of positivity and good vibes which really lifted our moods, and everyone enjoyed his company and service. We had champagne, chocolates and his camera to play around with.”

DIY “Jason and his father built the Chuppah (which is a canopy beneath which Jewish marriage ceremonies are performed). We purchased the timber from our friend Katie at The Conservatory in Bentleigh. It took the boys about four days and a couple of six-packs of beer to build the chuppah at their house, but they did a fantastic job, even with the wind blowing like crazy.”

FAVOURITE MOMENT “My favourite moment of the day was finally putting my dress on after sitting in hair and makeup and walking out to my dad. The look of happiness and genuine love on his face and the feeling of love in the air brought us both to tears. It was a moment of vulnerability I have never really seen in my father and a memory I will cherish forever.”

A TOUCH OF TRADITION “We are both from Jewish family backgrounds and wanted to stay traditional (for the most part) to respect our heritage and families. This meant that we did not see or speak to each other for a whole week before the wedding and only saw each other on the big day! Before the wedding there is an intimate moment whereby the close family, bridesmaids and groomsmen do a grand reveal. This is the first time husband and wife see each other. After not seeing or speaking to one another for one whole week, it was very emotional for all involved – especially us!”

A WORD OF ADVICE “1. Don’t sweat the small stuff 2. Be present – time flies. During the reception take your partner outside and just have 5-10 minutes to yourselves 3. Make sure you eat the food!”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographer Ashleigh from Ashleigh Haase Photography was a standout for us. Her photos were magical! We never in a million years thought our photos would have turned out to be so good. Our stylist/florist Annabel from Belco Events was also a standout. She produced such an amazing style which was perfectly executed. We couldn’t be happier with both vendors and would highly recommend them to anyone!”
