Together for 8 years, Tahlia and Mitch had a whole host of Hello May vendors present for their big day and it was a pretty dang good one! There was The Future Mrs on hair, Dusk Bridal on makeup and Peter Rowland’s amazing Butler Lane on venue and catering with. Prea James Bridal provided the goods in terms of the veil whilst Grew & Co took care of the rings. The lovely Sarah of Heartbreak Hotel Photo Booth was also there delivering fun times. That’s a pretty decent lineup if we do say so ourselves! To top it off, Hello May fave Lilli of I Got You Babe Weddings was there to capture it all. Scroll down for the details…

THE VENUE “From the start, we’d envisioned a warehouse venue. We wanted our wedding to be a celebration of love but also a big party. We’d scoured a few venues but nothing was quite fitting the brief. One of my bridesmaids works for Peter Rowland and she gave us a tip-off that they were opening a new venue in Richmond. Butler Lane was exactly what we were looking for: a big industrial but very chic and modern space with a beautiful courtyard for our ceremony. We locked it in the next week!”

THE VIBE “Californian cool. Think Palm Springs meets LA. The vibe was inspired by our engagement. We also wanted the day to really reflect us and how much we value family and friendship. We incorporated lots of personal details like getting married on one of my parents’ Persian rugs and nods to my Italian heritage through the bonbonniere.”

FAVOURITE DETAILSCecilia Fox brought our floral dreams to life in such a spectacular way. I know some girls dream about their wedding dress but I was dreaming of the flowers.”

WE’RE GLAD WE…”invested in a live band. It took us a long time to find an act we liked but The Mad Hatters were great (they were a DJ/singer/sax combo) and really got the dance floor going, which was one of our must-haves. We are also really glad we did a tasting beforehand (thanks to Peter Rowland for squeezing us in over the Christmas break) as we didn’t get to try a lot of it on the night but had lots and lots of happy guests complimenting the food!”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Lilli [I Got You Babe Weddings] made us feel so at ease and we had an instant connection with her like we were old friends. Edwina at Peter Rowland came in a bit later on in the planning but was a dream to work with and made sure everything was done exactly as we wanted from afar: nothing was too hard! She pulled everything together with grace and good humour. Sarah from Heartbreak Hotel Photo Booth also did an amazing job of getting people working their magic in the photo booth, what a character! Finally, our celebrant Laura made time to get to know us and our story weaving this into a beautiful ceremony that brought tears to the eyes of even our most stoic guests.”
