Four years after meeting in an accounting tutorial at uni, Sasha and James tied the knot at the stunning Mitolo Wines in South Australia. “We knew straightaway,” explains the bride of the venue. “We were always set on McLaren Vale, it’s such a beautiful part of SA, and Mitolo just felt like us. But, full disclosure… I’d actually emailed them a year before we were even engaged enquiring about wedding prices! Ha!”

Scott Surplice Photography (aka, our mate Scotty) was a knockout pic to capture the day – seriously, this man’s talents behind the lens know no limits. But it was a close call with COVID border restrictions nearly keeping them apart. “We were desperate to have our interstate photographer, Scott, capture our day – it was the biggest relief when Scott landed in Adelaide!” Scroll on to see what all the fuss is about!
THE VIBE “I always love a simple and neutral look but wanted it to be classic and romantic as well. We wanted the overall vibe to be authentic and relaxed.”
FAVE DETAILS “I am still so in love with how the styling in the reception area turned out. Our florist, EST Emma Sadie Thomson, completely understood and nailed the look I was trying to achieve.”
THE DRESS “I really loved Prea James Bridal dresses so booked a trip to Hope X Page with my bridesmaids to try them on in Sydney. We all fell in love with the Olympia gown. But I’m an overthinker and when I got back to Adelaide, I still couldn’t make up my mind. I ended up extending a work trip to Sydney a few weeks later and tried it on again with my brother. I got measured and fitted, and knew for sure it was the right dress for me. Lucky I did, because that was the first week of COVID and right before things started getting weird.”
REFERENCES “James can tell you about all of the times he was sent on missions across Adelaide to find the latest Hello May in newsagents. I got a lot of inspo from HM and spent a lot of time searching Instagram for Adelaide vendors.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “For both of us, it was definitely the walk down the aisle. It’s obviously such an emotional and beautiful part of the day. I always thought I would ugly cry, but it was actually James who brought the tears, I was just so excited to be marrying my best friend.
WE’RE GLAD WE… “We are so glad we included our dog Arlow and that we hired I Do Paws to wrangle him! We were so relaxed knowing he was well looked after.”
