This stunner is Sarah, guys. She is the owner of Sphere Collective, a gorgeous bridal boutique on the Sunshine Coast and is a long-time friend and vendor of ours here at Hello May. Sarah and her builder husband, Zane, have been together for five years, engaged for five months and got married on their fifth anniversary… Lucky number much? We think so! The couple got married in Noosa Beach and the coastline not only made for some of our favourite photos by another vendor of ours, Janneke Storm, but had a hand in the proposal, too. Read all about it below…
THE PROPOSAL “One of our favourite things to do is go and watch a full moon rise over the Ocean. Zane had planned to propose on the next full moon. We packed a picnic and heading down to the beach with our two dogs. He had set up a camera to take a photo of us with the moon in the back, I thought nothing of it as I would usually be the one taking a photo. But while we stood there waiting for the photo to take, he dropped to his knee and proposed. It was the best moment ever.”
THE VENUE “We knew exactly where we wanted to have our reception. Locale is one of our favourite restaurants in Noosa. We wanted a venue that had amazing food and alcohol, it was something we wanted our friends and family to remember and love just as much as we do. We also wanted a venue where we didn’t have to worry about dressing and styling too much. Locale has incredible decor with a large glass window with a green wall and moody lighting. It was perfect as is.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “We really wanted a minimal, intimate wedding. We kept it very simple. My bridesmaid Kady created our invitations and hand wrote them and also hand wrote all the place cards, they looked incredible. The roses Nat from Heavenly Blooms had put together were amazing, the bouquets were just white roses and looked incredible.”
THE DRESS “My gown was my own design and first for Bespoke Sphere. To be honest I knew exactly what I wanted to wear for my ceremony gown and it was my opportunity to really explore my own design skills. I wanted it to be a strong design but romantic. Using minimal fabrics to create texture, yet a soft silhouette. That gown is exactly me and a replication of my style. It will be a part of a small and possibly one-off collection that represents Sphere Collective. For my reception dress, I wanted sexy and fun and something I wouldn’t usually wear. Kyha from One Day Bridal knew my minimalistic style and created the Chosen by One Day Bridal satin fitted slip with the soft tulle tie at the back and it’s now part of the Chosen collection too.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “I was awake so early the morning of, my bridesmaids and I went to the beach and watched the sunrise. It was one of the most beautiful sunrises we had ever seen. And walking down the aisle towards Zane. I knew we would both be emotional. As I got closer to him I saw that he had brought our beloved dog Jada and as soon as I got there, we both just hugged each other and cried. It was one of the most powerful moments of our life. Neither of us will forget that.”
LITTLE LOL “Our speeches were pretty hilarious – every single person that spoke had everyone laughing but were also really heartfelt. And at one stage, we looked over to see the bar had lined up about 15 espresso martinis and the dance floor was packed. It really turned into a party for all ages.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Don’t stress the small stuff and just do what matters to you both. Also, we wish we had had our speeches filmed.”
