Held in their very own backyard, thanks to the groom’s gardening/ landscaping career, this wedding boasts the most beautiful garden party reception, colourful to boot and just pretty darn cool in general. THE VENUE “We have LOTS of dogs! Two adopted Greyhounds, Daisy the queen and Buzz the 18 year old Staffy and Fishmarket Reserve Guildford is our absolute fav hangout! The Tree, the river, the adventure = The Ceremony! We also love our backyard and our home, Three Trees Cottage. We have worked so very hard to make it special and oh golly, who doesn’t want to get married at home and celebrate with all your family/ friends/ dogs/ chickens/ ducks and rescue lorikeet!”
THE THEME “All the colour, all the old school vibes and all the animals! I had emailed Jess from Butcher Baker Stylist Creator and knowing she was booked out, gave little spiel about us. I had a reply back saying I had her at ‘four dogs’ and I could choose any date in September! Totes meant to be! I ran around the house celebrating like a crazy person! We love that retro/mid century look and she really helped us bring it all to life!”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “Our stationary by Love Carli was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Our save the dates and cake topper was an illustrated portrait of us along with our four dogs, duck, chicken and lorikeet! My Nonna did an extraordinary job of our cake and it was so special that she made it for us and that it was her mother’s recipe. And all of our flowers. They were exactly as I have always dreamed- so bright, eclectic and all of the textures were just beautiful.”
THE DRESS “I saw a photo on Amanda Alessi’s Instagram of one of Helen Manuell’s bridal gowns and decided to make an appointment. Good excuse to have a little Melbourne getaway, too. The minute I met Helen we hit it off and I felt like we were old friends. She was warm, friendly and knew exactly what I wanted. Helen’s attention to detail was phenomenal the cap sleeves were so perfect. My pockets were the highlight! I felt so comfortable in it. It was so important to me that I would be able to hug and dance the night away and by golly I did!”
WE’RE GLAD WE “Had our wedding celebration party at home and that it was cocktail. It was laid back, everyone mingled together and had the best time.
