If you have ever wondered what a relaxed, romantic bush wedding looks like ponder no longer. Nicole and Nick’s big day was all those things and more. The historic Audley Dance Hall hosted the whole shebang whilst The White Tree set the scene in terms of tunes. Nicole and her maids got ready in the cosiest of jammies, courtesy of Jasmine and Will, and were all done up by Hair and Makeup ledge Alex Penton. Nick was decked out in M.J. Bale and basically every single detail was on point. To top it all off, one of our all-round fave humans on this earth, Scott Surplice, was on hand to capture the memories. Scroll down for his mighty fine snaps…

THE VENUE “The Royal National Park was a place we both grew up visiting and when we saw Audley Dance Hall we knew it was the spot for us. It held so much nostalgia for us and memories for both our families and we loved the idea of having the ceremony in the National Park. Having the reception venue so close was just what we wanted so we could spend as much time with the guests as possible. The Dance Hall itself is a simple, beautifully restored space in a gorgeous setting which suited the style of wedding we wanted and was large enough to accommodate our numbers. They also gave us access to the venue the day before so we could do a few DIY set-ups. We knew the food was fantastic so we were completely sold.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “My two young cousins Grace (14) and Audrey (12) did an amazing job as MC’s. They kept everything running smoothly according to Nick’s VERY detailed wedding run sheet and had the guests in hysterics.”

LITTLE LOL “We had very good Scottish friends travel to Australia for the wedding. As soon as the bridal waltz started their 7-year-old son Harry stood up, walked around the end of a very long table and asked my brother’s girlfriend, who he had never met before that day, if she would like to dance with him! The look on my brother’s face was priceless! She agreed, he escorted her up to the dancefloor and he pretty much stayed there for the rest of the night. Every time we looked around he was dancing away in the centre of a different group of people, proudly dressed in his kilt and occasionally wearing his sunglasses!”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “We’re so glad we just went for the big wedding. For a long time, we deliberated over the guest list to try and make it smaller but in the end, we just went for it. It was so special having all our close friends and family there.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Scott our photographer was fantastic! He had photographed many weddings at Audley Dance Hall before so knew all the spots and best places for photos. He made everything so relaxed and fun. Alex Penton did the hair and make-up for me, my bridesmaids and Mum. She was incredible. She was such a lovely and calming presence on the day.”
