Montanna and Craig chose the soft sage and gold hills of Queenstown for their destination elopement and it ain’t hard to see why. As a wedding photographer, the bride knew that a killer backdrop was a must for her big day. The couple decided to tie the knot with just 15 of their closest friends and fam looking on. Hello May faves Lauren Campbell and Bulb Creative immortalised these special moments for the two lovers. Scroll down for all the details….
THE VENUE “We looked at multiple wedding venues before booking with The Elopement Collective but being a wedding photographer it felt a lot like work to me. We wanted to create a day we loved in the outdoors, in a location that took our breath away.”
THE VIBE “Our inspiration came from seeing what Josh and Britt [The Elopement Collective] create every day. Being in the wedding industry I had followed them for a long time, even before we were engaged. I loved that nothing was overly staged, the idea of two people being in love and letting nature showcase that became such a big part of our wedding day. Choosing New Zealand meant that we ultimately had a week away with both of our families and select friends, so having everyone we loved in a small intimate setting really was the driving force for this. Instead of celebrating for one day, we celebrated for a whole week and we couldn’t have wanted anything more.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “My favourite detail was my Crown. Three months after getting engaged, Crowns and Wreaths were going on Mat leave, so I bought two crowns so no matter what dress I had, I could wear a crown on my wedding day. It was probably the first thing I knew I wanted for the wedding.”
REFERENCES “I had followed The Elopement Collective on Instagram pretty much since their beginning, and so when we decided to not have a conventional wedding, they were our only choice. Once we booked them in they had a wonderful array of Vendors to choose from – and while the choice was difficult, in my heart I had followed Lauren Campbell’s work for a while, and always loved her work with The Elopement Collective so she was a no brainer. The Bulb Creative came a little later, at the start we weren’t 100% sure on video, but if I were to do it all again, there would be no hesitation that they would be part of our team. Harley was so wonderful on the day and I am forever thankful for the video he brought to us.”
FAVOURITE MOMENT “Walking towards our friends and family to start the ceremony together is such a wonderful memory. Everyone just looked so involved and present. Josh [Married by Josh] had them arranged in a circle so it was inclusive and we could see everyone. That is one of my favourite parts of the day – everyone we could have wanted was there, surrounding us, being our cheer squad.”
