Meet Mills and Scott, good people. These two were engaged for a decent 15 months which gave them just the right amount of time to plan a day decked with details. We’re talking wildflower bouquets, mismatched bridesmaid gowns and snaps by the wonderful Justin Aaron Photography. Entertainment was provided by The White Tree whilst South Coast Party Hire adorned the space with wholesome hired goods. All this fun took place on the lush expanses of Worrowing Jervis Bay. The Bride’s gown? Nabbed from the lovely ladies at Hope x Page! Groomsmen suits? Joe Black, of course. The legalities? Married by Allegra! So if you’d like more details, we recommend scrolling down…

THE VENUE “We both knew we wanted it to be on the south coast as we spend a lot of time down there with Scott’s family and our friends. We saw about six venues in one day but knew the moment we got to Worrowing that it was perfect for us. We knew we didn’t want a beach wedding but wanted something that reflected us and that felt really Australian and close to home. We also wanted somewhere where all our families and close friends could be in one spot, and we loved that it was such a huge open space, surrounded by trees and grounds filled with Kangaroos. It just felt right when we got there and it is the most beautiful venue.”

DIY “We designed all our wedding stationery/signage together, along with our beautiful friend Meghan Walters, who is an artist. She drew a flannel flower for all the stationery to make it really personal. We also put together gift packs for everyone staying on the property, including a bottle of sparkling with a personalised label and a note from us with the date of the wedding.”

THE DRESS “My dress was literally my dream! I had seen it on the Bo & Luca website. I did know I always wanted sleeves and I had always loved the style of Bo & Luca dresses. A girlfriend of mine was collecting her dress from Hope X Page and booked me in for a fitting. I tried on about six dresses and mine was the first one. At first, I wasn’t sure and my friend had said a firm no! When I tried it on again, at the end, we both knew it was the right one. It felt really 70’s, I loved the sheer sleeves and the beaded detailing so I went with it. I am normally so indecisive so I was so surprised by how quickly I chose it but it is the most beautiful dress and I am still obsessed with it!”

FAVOURITE MOMENT “My brother-in-law is a composer and we had asked him to write something for us for the aisle but I had no idea that he had asked Scott to write a melody so he could turn it into a song. It made everything ten times more special!”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Things will always go wrong but if you have as much detail as you can in your run sheet (and also help from someone to make the evening run smoothly) it won’t matter and no one will notice!”

WE’RE GLAD WE “We are really glad we did some research as to what types of photos we wanted. We sent them to Justin [Justin Aaron Photography] and also made a list of who was in which group photo beforehand to try and get all the combinations possible. Justin was awesome at getting the groups together and went above and beyond to get the types of shots he knew we wanted. Another thing we are so glad we did was to listen to him on the day as he made all the photos happen. We absolutely love them and he captured all parts of the day so beautifully.”

STANDOUT VENDOR “Our celebrant Allegra also made our ceremony absolutely perfect for us. We wanted something simple and non-traditional as it was in a garden, and she made it both those things while adding a few surprises like a pronouncement raffle, a flash-mob reading and a song celebrating our wedding party. She made everyone laugh and enjoy every part of the ceremony and put everyone in the most positive mood to kick off our day. My dad, who is somewhat traditional, said it was the most enjoyable ceremony he had been to and loved how fun and relaxed it was.”
