It seems Boyd Baker House can do no wrong. Almost every other wedding seems to take place at this rustic, post-war homestead located 45 minutes outside Melbourne’s CBD. For Madeline and Daniel, it was a place that ticked all the boxes for their, vintage, boho-inspired day. Madeline tells us, £Danny and I really wanted the wedding to be fun but also relaxed and we could have that at the Boyd Baker House.
To complete their vision, Madeline embraced Etsy and got her craft on – sourcing enough material and assistance from her mum and friend Laura to make the invitations, wedding favours, buntings and table runners. Also on her team were the girls from Grace Loves Lace, who created her dream dress. “I wanted a dress that was simple yet different”, says Madeline. “They took my measurements and then I received the wedding dress about two months before the wedding it was perfect. It was so comfortable and simple, yet the detail on it was so unique and sweet”.
Luckily no one will ever forget that day, or how great she looked, thanks to photographer Stewart Leishman, who takes pictures that are much like roasted marshmallows – soft, sweet and oozing with goodness. It was then only time before Madeline and Daniel chose a great band and caterers, too. Hudson’s Famous Catering provided a fabulous feast while Melbourne Hit Parade had guests on the dance floor for hours. Madeleine says, “The Reception was just magical. We just felt that everyone was having the best time and the band and caterers made this possible. They were awesome!”
