Having collected over 100 vintage dresses, a retro, vintage-inspired wedding was always on the cards for Louise. “Being a collector of mid century clothing, furniture and home decor, I definitely wanted to have that vibe throughout”, she says.
Fig Tree Restaurant & Rooms in Byron Bay provided the perfect backdrop for their outdoor garden party, with a 1940s caravan and views to the Pacific Ocean but what really set their day apart was Louise’s different dresses from Forever Vintage in Sydney.
“The Ceremony dress is a 1950s Peggy Hunt lace tea-length dress with rhinestone detailing on the bodice, and the dinner dress is a late 1950s beaded and sequinned floor length dress by Gene Shelley – possibly the most spectacular dress I have ever laid eyes on!”
Their day wouldn’t have been what it was however without a team of top notch vendors. “Cara from Modern Love Ceremonies was fantastic! Professional, funny, and warm. Britte from Beautiflora is freaking amazing at what she does.
And Brendan from A Bear A Deer and A Fox killed it on the day behind the lenses – when your photographer bribes a nearby landowner with a 50 to shoot on their property, you know you’re on to a good one!”
