For loved -up cuties Lizzy and Scott, marriage means, “Unlimited sleepovers with your bestie! It means wholeheartedly accepting each other and holding space for them always.” Aww! Together for three years before becoming Mr and Mrs on the first day of spring in beautiful Byron, Lizzy and Scott had the very good sense to hand over the planning and styling reins to the lovely (and amazingly talented) Kiera from Creative Weddings Byron Bay. Scroll through Wilde Visual’s phenom photos below to see for yourself what a bang-up job Kiera did. From the marquee styling with luxe furnishings from The Wedding Shed to the bride’s reception outfit paired with our fave Meggan Morimoto heels, and the groom’s dapper M.J. Bale tux, every delish detail of this day of days was red-hot!

THE VENUE “We planned on eloping in Italy but our parents turned us off the idea and we’re actually glad they did now (but were not at the time!). In a deflated state, we drove down to Byron Bay from Brisbane. Having not planned any visits, we cold called as many venues in Byron as we could and we looked at a few that day. Forget Me Not was a clear winner – it stopped us in our tracks.”

THE VIBE “Classic and timeless. We made an effort not to be overly influenced by current trends. Not sure if can say this for the black bridesmaid dresses though? I’m still surprised that I went with this. I was worried it would look a bit like a funeral, and less like a spring wedding, but I wanted the girls to like the dresses they wore and want to wear them again.

FAVE DETAILS “My second dress by Christie Nicole was definitely a highlight. I didn’t get into it until after our first dance as I wanted to make the most of being in the stunning Jane Hill gown. The dance floor was coming to life, so I savored a few songs and then discreetly made the switch. My hair stylist and close friend, Chantelle Maree, assisted me in transforming my hairstyle from a bun to a ponytail and getting me into the second dress. It added an exciting twist to the atmosphere, as the rest of our style had been rather understated and classic. This party dress truly brought a sense of fun and vivacity to my overall vibe!”

THE SUIT “Because I wear corporate wear and suits to work daily I wanted something that felt a bit more special. I decided to go with the tuxedo and custom shirt combination so it didn’t feel like an everyday jacket trouser combination. M.J. Bale in Brisbane City fitted my suit and The Modern Gentry were fantastic with the tailored shirt ensuring it came on time and nailing the fit with no adjustments needed.”

MEMORABLE MOMENT “Taking a break from the party to enjoy the sunset at the top of the hill turned out to be a significant and cherished moment. Originally, we had considered skipping it as we were eager to stick to a tight schedule so we could enjoy more time on the dance floor. However, the time alone was absolutely essential.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Remained resolute in our decisions, regardless of external pressures. We faced substantial pressure to expand the guest list, but in the end, we extended invitations exclusively to those who had been present in our lives and whom we truly wished to have with us on our special day. This paid off as the energy in the room was truely incredible.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “We honestly had a dream team. While reviewing skills and qualifications is essential, we placed the highest value on the connection we felt. You work closely with these individuals, and trust is paramount, so we selected kind people with whom we immediately felt comfortable. Our wedding coordinator, Kiera from Creative Weddings Byron Bay, was an absolute gem. Many guests commented on how calm we were on the morning of the wedding, and we credit this to Kiera’s expertise and support.”
