If you don’t believe in destiny try this scenario on for size: Almost a decade ago Leah and Kiernan (featured in Issue 10) were both standing outside a Vegas nightclub. He approached her and after a brief conversation realised that in a matter of weeks they’d be in the same city and attending the same university.

£? we exchanged numbers and eventually Facebook details,” says Leah who, originally from Canada, was en route to Australia to study dentistry.

Exactly seven years after their initial encounter, Leah and Kieran tied the knot under the guidance of their celebrant Victoria Eustace at The Grounds of Alexandria in Sydney, a heavenly, inner-city oasis.

£The Grounds was an excellent venue because they did almost everything for us – they have fantastic food, the decor is amazing all on its own, and the natural choice for flowers was Silva at The Grounds?—

Running with a blue and white theme, Leah colour co-ordinated the bridesmaid dresses, bow ties, boutonnieres, flowers – the lot. Even the gingerbread cookies she and her mum spent forever baking were made to match.

£My mum and I have always loved making and decorating cookies. Even though I haven’t lived at home in over a decade, every time I visit we make sure we find some sort of excuse to make cookies?”

Shopping for a wedding dress on the other hand was a whole new experience for Leah, but thanks to the good old Internet she found what she was looking for. £? I found it on Leanne Marshall‘s site! (Former Project Runway winner!) After a quick email asking her if she could also sew a custom removable tulle skirt, I was sold.—

An even easier decision was hiring Jo Bartholomew who had photographed Leah’s brother and sister-in-law’s wedding a few months beforehand.

£Jo our photographer was fabulous. Kiernan and I agree that choosing her was the best decision we made in regards to the wedding. Even though our wedding day is over and the decorations have been dismantled and the flowers are long gone and I probably can’t quite get into my dress as easily, we will always have her beautiful photos to remind us of how amazing and full of love our day was.—
