When Cam presented Lauren with a one carrot ring (literally a ring carved from a carrot) she wasn’t sure if he was being serious. But in fact it was the one (and perhaps only) time he wasn’t joking. Wanting to create a DIY ‘wedstival’ where guests were free to roam, drink and dance as they pleased they packed the boot with everything but the kitchen sink and headed to Lauren’s mum’s farm in southern New South Wales to start setting up.
“We set up the marquee and all the equipment, made an iPad photobooth, did all of the decorating around the venue, built arbours, constructed centrepieces you name it, we (along with help from friends and family) did it!” says Lauren whose husband (a firefighter) was off in Vanuatu saving lives until 5AM the morning of their wedding!
There was live music (five different artists no less), an ice cream van courtesy of Ken’s Cones (despite being temporarily bogged), a cake from Sweet As Baking, romantic festoon lighting thanks to Sharper Productions and most importantly, one very talented destination photographer named Scott Surplice.
“Our photographer Scott. Not only did he take beautiful photos but he made shooting the portraits a total dream! Nothing forced, just a lot of chatting, questions and good fun. He had the best energy and we absolutely loved having him there all day (and night!)”
If you’ve got the hots for Scott’s photographic skills, be sure to check out his fashion editorials featured in issue ten, on sale now at selected newsagents nationally or online via Mag Nation.
