Say hi to Katya and Michael guys. Summing their big day up in two words, we kinda dig their theme of “celestial Bohemia” a lot. We also dig Michael’s super low key proposal that suited Katya down to a tee.“We were at home one night, had just hopped into bed and Michael threw me a FedEx postage bag which I just thought was for work. I didn’t think anything of it and started opening it. Inside was a ring in a light-up jewellery box and I knew straight away. He didn’t even have to ask or say anything”, she explains. Lens-dude Justin Aaron Photography was on hand to snap the happy couple whilst Design Patrol Films captured footage. Get scrolling for the goods…

FAVOURITE DETAILS “For us, the visuals and the experience were so important. 90% of our guests travelled from out of town so we wanted it to be a feast for the senses. We wanted lots and lots of florals, in particular for the reception. Layers and textures but with an edge. The Wedding Designers absolutely killed it.”

THE DRESS “I never tried on any wedding dresses. I knew I wanted a dress by Odylyne The Ceremony. I sourced it via Love Marie. I adore everything to do with Odylyne and the thought of having them make a one-off gown was so special to me. I love their vision and their style and the whole process was effortless.”

LITTLE LOL “My Mum and Step-Father were hilarious! They hosted a day after wedding BBQ at their house and in preparation for that they pretty much renovated their entire house, inside and out. They did everything including new window coverings, furniture, painting inside and out and they even washed down the entire outside of their two-storey house with a broom. They were acting like the actual wedding day was getting held at their house!”

FAVOURITE MOMENT “We turned the wedding into a full weekend from Friday night to Sunday night. Some of our favourite moments were from the night before and the morning of when we spent it with our bridal party and close friends and even the night of the wedding we stayed at the property with some people close to us and just being around everyone who is so special to us made for some truly magical moments.”

STANDOUT VENDORSJustin Aaron honestly made the day. We were so nervous about getting our photos taken. It’s something we both hate but he was so chilled and has the best sense of humour and our photos have literally blown us away. He captured so many amazing moments. Also Design Patrol! We love them! They are so relaxed and put us at ease and are just two beautiful people to deal with.”
