After six years together Katie and Kyle knew they were the perfect match. They also knew that recruiting photographer Shane Shepherd and floral stylist Estelle from The French Petal would make for the perfect wedding.
“We wanted our wedding to be fun, relaxed and a little left of centre, the perfect reflection of the two of us. We went for a modern bohemian look filled with flowers, colour and our favourite people. We also tried to be environmentally-conscious, which is one of the reasons we chose Harvest, as they focus on sustainable and local produce, and why we had plantable seed paper for our name tags/bonbonniere”, says Katie, whose husband gave Harvest, located in the Byron Bay Hinterland, quite a wrap. “The food was probably my favourite detail. We knew Harvest would turn it on, but nothing could prepare me for how good it was!”
Equally impressive was their stationery by Venamour and Katie’s two piece ensemble by our favourite kiwi designer, Rue De Seine. “As soon as I put the’ dress on I knew it was it. It was so perfect in every way”, says Katie who despite pulling off an amazing wedding cautions future brides; “It’s so easy to be totally consumed by all the planning… make sure you have actual conversations with your husband-to-be that don’t revolve around the wedding. One wedding-free day a week should suffice!”
