With a boho luxe vibe in mind, Kat and Mik wanted a relaxed wedding day that was all about good food, an awesome band and plenty of champagne. While finding good eats was easy with Chef By The Sea, the search for a band was a bit more tricky. “It took us a long time to find the right band! We found one of our local pub’s famously good bands, The Nevilles. They were well known within our friendship group for being the best cover band and we LOVE 80’s music. Nevertheless, the night ended with everyone on the dance floor.”
Just a hop, skip and a jump from Sydney CBD, the wedding was held at Bayview Yacht Racing Association. Though Kat always envisioned something bohemian inspired with a smidge of shimmer, the right dress just hadn’t come her away until she made the trek to Brisbane’s Bo & Luca. “The beaded two piece ticked every one of my boxes and when I tried it on, I was filled with the elation of knowing it was ‘The One’. There was no doubt in my mind, I had to have it. Mum’s face also said it all. If you cry and you make your mum cry, then it is definitely the one.”
Thanks to new-age technology (praise Instagram!), Kat found her perfect photographer in Rachel Kara. Kat admits that she’s a bit of a stress head, but Rachel’s calm and relaxed nature was just what the doctor ordered. Psst… Love Kat’s gown as much as we do?
