These two started dating when they were the ripe old age of 13. What an epic love story and what a way to celebrate it! I mean, there was a salsa band guys. A Piñata instead of a cake and a surprise duet by the bride’s parents. The fun factor is looking pretty high, no? Add the following next-level vendors and you can see why it was one darn great wedding: Miranda Stokkel (on pics), Pomp and Splendour (on florals), Josue Films and Zena Lythgo Celebrant (self-explanatory, guys), Hera Couture (that gown!) and M.J. Bale (the suit!). Phew! Now scroll down for everything you need to know…
THE INSPO “We wanted our day to be fun. An expression of who we are as a couple and not too focused on formalities. The vibe of the day was intimate and relaxed but with lots of Latin music, dancing.”
FAVE DETAILS “Our flowers from Pomp and Splendour absolutely blew us away! The vibrancy of the colours, the beauty of the flowers and creativity of the arrangements were so incredible and fit perfectly with the vibe of the day. Tom surprised me by organising Sebastian Lugo, a musician we had come across busking in the city one night after we had recently returned from a holiday in Colombia. He was playing songs that we had been listening to while travelling. And my Dad, accompanied by the salsa band (Orquesta La 45’), surprised us with a duet of ‘Quando, Quando, Quando’, which our friends and family adored!”
THE DRESS “I tried numerous dresses, but nothing was quite like the Venezia gown from Hera Couture. I fell in love with the high neckline, the delicate and intricate flower embellishments and the open back with soft tulle. I felt elegant, confident and myself in the dress.”
KEY VENDORS “We found many of our key vendors through a list of suggestions provided by our photographer Miranda Stokkel. We also used the Hello May Directory.
MEMORABLE MOMENT “It was easily the ceremony and sharing our vows! Zena Lythgo Celebrant wrote such a beautiful, funny and heartfelt ceremony that perfectly told our story.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Deciding to get a videographer was something that we almost didn’t do. We ended up meeting David (of Josue Films) just one month before the wedding and we connected with him and his vision instantly. He captured the feel of the day perfectly and the film we have is priceless.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Miranda Stokkel, our photographer, brought a fun and relaxed energy to our day. The moments she captured were so beautiful, candid and natural. Josue Films’ David, our videographer, went above and beyond for us. He stayed back later than he had to, to capture special moments on the night. The film he and Jules put together captured our day perfectly. Zena Lythgo Celebrant, our celebrant, really took the time to get to know us and as a result held an authentic ceremony.”
