This dynamic duo not only each own their own businesses, but they also happen to own the building in which they married! Yep, 3 Cowper Street, a magical industrial space in downtown Newcastle, will soon be on offer to couples keen to tie the knot in this not so little surf town. Thank goodness Hello May faves Third Wheelin Co. and Anchored Cinema where there to not only capture the very first event to be held in this epic space but the beginning of Jade and Wade’s married lives together. We’ll let them fill you in on all of the details…
THE VENUE “We were looking for a local Newcastle venue, close to the city. We wanted a unique space with a warehouse-style that allowed us the flexibility to use the vendors of our own choice. Unable to find a venue to meet our needs, we thought why not build our own. This proved to be a major task but once we found the old Carrington Fruit Factory building we knew it was the one.”
FAVE DETAIL “Although we absolutely loved everything, definitely the music [by local band Crocq] made the night. The selection of music and the rendition of Chains for our first dance was spot on. It was such a hot night but no one cared, he kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night”.
A LITTLE LOL “It is funny now but not so much at the time, Wade and the boys were late and in the rush the groomsmen forgot the rings!! We thought that only happened in movies!! Quick thinking Groomsman Cal, whipped off his ring, commandeered my mums ring and the ceremony went ahead with only a select few knowing of all the dramas until after it was all said and done”
FAVE MOMENT “Wade and I agree our favourite moment of the day was walking out past our family and friends cheering after the ceremony as a married couple. We went and had some photos done just of him and I and it gave us the opportunity to talk about our mornings and let it all sink in.”
WE’RE GLAD WE “We are really happy that we chose a cocktail style wedding, It gave us a chance to socialise with everyone and kept the party going all night, When the music was playing, No one was in there chairs.”
