Grace and Matt had 22 months to plan their wedding which was plenty of time to nab a swathe of incredible vendors. Their cruisey nuptials played host to the likes of the talented Dane from The Salty Shutter (scroll down for a pretty spesh report), Hope X Page and The Vintage Stylus who spun tunes well into the night. The divine hired goods? The good folk at South Coast Party Hire and the extra lovely peeps at The Wedding and Event Creators. The FOMO is real, friends. But enough blabbering from us! FAVOURITE DETAILS “The two highlights for us were the ceremony and our photographer, Dane, otherwise known as “The Salty Shutter”. The ceremony location felt like a fairytale, down in a grassy meadow by a stream and Dane – where do we start. He is honestly a magician. He is so passionate about his work, so much so that it never appears like work to him. He has this unique way of making it seem like you’re old friends. He’s so genuine and relaxed and makes everyone in his vicinity feel that way too. We’d say he has been the highlight of this whole experience!”

THE DRESS “I found the original dress in Hope x Page after a couple of days searching through Melbourne and Sydney. When the A La Robe silk organza wrap skirt that I originally bought arrived, I had a bit of a panic because I realised I had made the wrong decision. I’d had my heart set on another floral embroidered wrap skirt by A La Robe. So, I anxiously contacted the designer in France who was more than happy to swap the skirts over and we did so with ease with the help from the amazing girls at Hope X Page!”

FAVOURITE MOMENT “For me [Matt] it was the speeches. Sitting back and watching the most important people in your life talk is like having tickets to your own story. I think it’s so important that the people who are getting up to say something on the night put their heart and soul into it because it’s something that the bride and groom will remember forever.”

A TOUCH OF TRADITION “We both wanted to include something a bit more spiritual and meaningful into the ceremony rather than religious, so we incorporated a hand tying ritual, in which our mums came up to tie the bonds around us. It’s an ancient tradition to symbolise the merging of two lives. It’s actually where the phrase ‘tying the knot’ came from!”

WE WISH WE “Looking back we wished that we had a wedding planner for the morning of or someone not in the wedding party to meet with all of the arriving vendors and make sure everything last minute was set up properly. Matt would have liked a bit more time with the boys as he found he was so busy doing all of these little things we hadn’t thought about!”

STANDOUT VENDORSThe Vintage Stylus, our Vinyl DJ, was a cut above the rest. Music is very important to us and, evidently, to him too! The only bad thing about the night was when the party finished and we had to tell him to stop playing!”

Grace and Matt’s rather rad vendor list comes with some good news. We have contact deets! You can find more real wedding goodness and contact forms by clicking through for The Salty Shutter, Hope X Page, South Coast Party Hire, The Wedding and Event Creators and The Vintage Stylus.
