Welcome to the festival-inspired wedding of Gina and Shannon, guys. The bride, who wore a gorgeous Grace Loves Lace gown says, “Shannon and I love chill music festivals – sitting on the grass, laughing and drinking with friends. That, combined with a rustic, natural vibe was what I aimed for.” And how did they nail it? With an epic venue and Gold Coast Tipis of course! Now scroll down for all the details and pictures by the lensman Tom Judson Photography

THE VENUE “We had a vision for a rustic, festival style wedding that really allowed for me to DIY as much as possible. Gold Coast Farmhouse was just perfect. So much room, greenery and a beautiful, somewhat blank canvas. We were able to have food trucks, a mobile bar, tipis, guests could camp, there was a house for us to stay and really no rules regarding time or sound which was important to us as we just wanted to have an awesome party with our friends.”

FAVE DETAILS “The beautiful 1953 restored caravan from our friends at Silver Belle Events. It is the most stunning silver caravan acting as a mobile bar for our wedding, and we were able to stock it with all of the drinks our friends love. I also adored the flowers I purchased from Tugun Fruit & Flowers which were just so beautiful. I loved making them because I was able to bring all my Pinterest boards to life.”

DIY “From the invitations to the lapels, even the timber venue signs. I used the year leading up to the wedding to make everything I possibly could myself. It was such a learning process – I made invitations, bridesmaid gifts, wedding favours, wedding signs, the bouquets, the guys’ lapels, the girls’ hair pieces. I remember looking around the wedding in the afternoon and feeling so happy, knowing my friends and family were enjoying a day that I had put SO much handcrafted love into.”

THE DRESS “It was a Grace Loves Lace dress – Ziggy. I purchased it second hand and then got it altered to fit my waist a little better. I searched for a second-hand dress for a few months with not a lot of luck until I found this one. I tried it on, and it fit nearly perfectly! I’m just not someone who spends a lot of money on clothes and so I couldn’t justify a new dress when I was happy with one that had been loved once before!”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Give it a go by yourself! I’m so glad I didn’t get a stylist or planner because it allowed for so much creative freedom and also, start early! Our initial food truck fell through, but we had time to get another.”

STANDOUT VENDORSTom Judson Photography and Married by Hannah Lea, our celebrant, were massive standouts. We felt instantly connected – such lovely people who made the day exactly what we had envisioned! The bar, Silver Belle Events added so much character to our atmosphere and was just everything we could have dreamed of!”
