Snazzy couple Georgie and Cam have been together for over six years and the love in the air is pretty dang obvious (just check out the groom’s beaming smile!). Turning up the sweetness a whole extra notch, Cam notes that marriage, for these two, means “our Friday night Fish and Chip routine is here to stay!”
For couples planning their big day, Georgie has this advice: “Don’t underestimate the amount of time needed to pull everything together. We had ample time from when we booked the venue to the actual day (20 months) and it still came around quickly, especially in the last six months. If you’re not in any hurry for the big day to roll around, use the time to chip away at the to-do list so it doesn’t feel overwhelming.”
Definitely a top tip – and the proof it’s a great way to go is in the amazing big day Georgie and Cam ended up having, snapped by the ever-so-talented Beck Rocchi. From the bride’s stunning custom KYHA Studios gown to the groom and his gang all dressed in Oscar Hunt, this was one seriously stylish big day.
THE VENUE “Noosa was an absolute no-brainer when choosing a wedding location. Having spent the Christmas and New Year period in Noosa for some 20+ years with family and family friends, it felt like our second home. We enquired with two restaurants but ultimately felt Rickys River Bar was more suitable based on the stunning setting and being able to incorporate arriving to the reception via the Noosa River.”
THE THEME “Our theme for our wedding was ‘summer cocktail’. We envisaged lots of white and green, and avoided dark colours. We encouraged the ladies to wear colourful summer dresses, heels, wedges or sandals, and the men to wear summer suits, shirts, chinos or tailored shorts for the guys. Basically, anything except dinner suits and stilettos based on the beachside destination!”
FAVE DETAILS “We loved the flowers that Terrianne from Mondo Floral Designs pulled together for us. She was a dream to work with and we instantly trusted her to bring our inspiration to life. Cam and I weren’t quite seeing eye-to-eye on whether to have an arbour or a free-standing floral arrangement at the end of the aisle, but ultimately the always bride always wins, so this was a nice little surprise for Cam on the day. Thankfully he loved it!”
THE DRESS “Nine months before the wedding I called One Day Bridal [now KYHA Studios] and booked in my first consultation with one of their designers. Based on a similar design they had previously created, the gown was sketched and came to life. They captured everything I was looking for, from the romance of the sleeves to the elegance in the low, button-up back. It was a dream to wear and the response to the dress has been overwhelming!”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “The M.V Catalina pulled up at Rickys River Bar just as the sun was setting and our guests made their way up the jetty into the restaurant. We knew this was going to be a magical moment that would WOW our guests, but what we didn’t realise was that one of our emcees, James, had all of our guests upstanding and waving their napkins above their heads for the bridal entrance. The room was so full of energy and excitement, and our photographer, Beck Rocchi, perfectly captured the look on everyone’s/our faces in what was a moment we will never forget.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “We hope it’s not cliché to want to call out all of our vendors. But based on the glowing feedback from all of our guests, our celebrant Jay Flood of Noosa Style Ceremonies was a standout. We instantly loved Jay’s relaxed vibe and his Noosa style. And Beck Rocchi – we are in awe of her work, her vibe and we are OBSESSED with her incredible photos!”
We’re a bit obsessed with everything Beck Rocchi does, too, which is why we highly recommend you reach out to her over on our directory. And if you’re in the market for suits that fit like a dream, give Oscar Hunt a shout while you’re there.
This wedding first appeared in our Real Weddings Special, which you can pick up for even more inspo over at our online store. Enjoy!
