Mitch proposed to Georgia on the beach in a way that felt completely natural to them both. “No big production, just the two of us. It felt really personal and special, which is exactly what we wanted.”

Nine months later, their wedding day carried that same energy: minimalist, personal and deeply intentional. The Old Treasury Building was where they chose to be wed before celebrating with a cosy and refined restaurant reception at Hazel. “We wanted it to feel effortless – nothing overdone, just really considered and simple in the best way.”

Below, the newlyweds reflect on some thoughtfully considered details that made the day feel so special, including soft florals, table decor and stationery (shoutout Sea + Paper studio) that tied together seamlessly, to their decision to keep the guest list intimate with just 55 loved ones in attendance. They also share more on the bride’s flowing, elegantly unexpected gown, and why photographer Morgan Luca was such a joy to have alongside them throughout the day. AN INTIMATE RESTAURANT RECEPTION OOZING OLD-SCHOOL CHARM

“We’ve always been drawn to beautiful, intimate spaces – especially older buildings with character. We’d been to Hazel for dinner a few times before and just loved the food and atmosphere. It always felt a bit special, so when it came to the wedding, it was an easy choice. We didn’t look at many others – it just felt right for the kind of intimate day we wanted.”

UNDERSTATED WEDDING STYLING

“It was all the subtle details that made it feel special. The flowers were probably my favourite – soft and understated, but they added so much without taking over the space. Everything felt really cohesive and intentional, which I loved. Even the smaller touches, like the stationery and table settings, all tied in beautifully without feeling overly styled.”

WEDDING MONOGRAM | DO IT YOURSELF DETAILS

“Mitch designed our monogram, which we used throughout the day. It was really special having something so personal that he created himself.”

AN ELEGANTLY UNCONVENTIONAL BRIDAL GOWN

“My dress was from Taller Marmo. I always knew I wanted something timeless but a bit non-traditional. I’ve loved the brand for a long time – their pieces feel really effortless but still elevated. I didn’t want anything overly bridal, so this felt very ‘me’.”

CLASSY YET CASUAL GROOM ATTIRE | SUIT & A TEE WEDDING OUTFIT

“It’s a simple handmade suit from Trunk Tailors who do incredible tailoring. A deviation from the traditional wedding outfit felt more casual and inline with our evening.”

PROS OF A SMALL-SCALE WEDDING CELEBRATION

“I’m really glad we kept it small and intimate. It meant we could actually spend time with everyone and share those moments properly, instead of it all feeling like a blur. There was a moment where I stepped back and looked around the room – all of our favourite people in one place, smiling and celebrating with us. It felt really surreal and grounding at the same time. I’ll always remember that.”

STANDOUT MELBOURNE PHOTOGRAPHER

Our photographer, Morgan Luca. He really took the time to get to know us and understand what we actually cared about, which made such a difference. Nothing felt forced – he just captured everything so naturally, and it really reflects how the day felt.”
