Be still our beating hearts. Gemaya & Tim’s South Coast nuptials are rife with textural florals and we are swooning hard. The genius responsible? The bride herself. Owner and mastermind behind Be Designed, Gemaya went all out for her own big day. With the help of Tim and the good folk at South Coast Party Hire, decor was also on point. THE VENUE “As I work in the wedding industry I knew that Seacliff House was one of the South Coast’s finest! It was the perfect mix of what we both love- rolling green hills and ocean views. The venue was a blank canvas to do whatever we wanted to do. Also, the owners were absolute legends and very accommodating to anything we needed.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “Being a wedding stylist I had so many ideas and concepts for the day. One detail that was always firm from the start would have to be the enormous 9m long canopy in the reception which I designed and my dad built for us. The whole wedding was designed around this canopy, it housed our bridal party and immediate family. Tim and I hate being on ‘show’ at the front of a room so we created a communal table/ space for our nearest and dearest.”
THE DRESS “I fell in love with the first dress I tried on- a stunning Rachel Gilbert gown. I bought it a few days later after trying on others that left me unsatisfied. However, as amazing as the gown was, it was nothing like I imagined myself getting married in and I started having second thoughts. A few months later, I was watching one of my favourite wedding gown stores Love Marie Bridal’s Instagram stories and there it was, The Sydney Gown by Alyssa Kristen. I instantly knew I needed that gown and booked the very next day to go to the store and try it on. I felt amazing in it and finally happy and confident that this was the dress I would Marry Tim in. I still wore the Rachel Gilbert gown to the reception, it was the perfect gown for a night of dancing.”
A TOUCH OF TRADITION “I tied the pearls my mother wore on her wedding day around my bouquet, a tradition my sister first started 3 years before on her wedding day.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Invest in a good photographer, videographer, stylist, caterer and band. These things really made our day what it was. We hired the best bunch of vendors! Every one of them is so passionate about what they do and it really showed in what they all delivered.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “We can’t forget Carla and her team and their cute as a button caravan bar [Meet Mabel]. I won’t lie, we booked this caravan because of its good looks but getting to know Carla has been amazing. She has become a lovely friend. Carla and the team produced the most de-lish cocktails and made sure no-one’s glass was half full.”
