Grab your passport, babes… we’re jetting off to France to celebrate the wedding of two very cool humans – Marie and Nael. They’ve been together for almost five years, and early in their romance, Nael (a chef) would leave homemade baked gifts at Marie’s door every second day. Someone make a movie about these two already!
Their day is a total marriage of quintessentially rural French heritage gorgeousness and modern, tradition-bucking details. We could go on and on and on but what you really need to know is that it was in FRANCE (did we mention that already?)

WE’RE GLAD WE… “The wedding we organised was really an expression of our relationship. The food trucks gave a festival kind of vibe, and the venue [had] a nice but still cosy feeling. We loved the fact that we could use the whole venue; no spaces were restricted for us, which gave it a family vacation vibe where everyone was roaming and discovering all the hidden gems.”
FAVE DETAILS “Our friends and family knew how much we love playing games, so some of them organised a treasure hunt for us with many of the guests, helping us break the ice and get the day going in a very natural way.”
DIY “Both of us enjoy greatly DIY projects, so we did all the flower arrangements from different flowers that we had in Marie’s parents’ garden. We did all the signage for the wedding, and it even started with the invites that were homemade and printed in risography to get the flashy colours that we wanted.”
BRIDAL ‘FIT “Choosing the outfit was a bit of a challenge because I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for. One day, I discovered Amarildine, and while roaming through their catalogue, I saw an outfit composed of high-waisted pants and a crop top and it came to me so obviously that it was what I was looking for since the beginning – an outfit not too different in style to my daily clothing but with an extra twist. With my eye on the prize, I went to their showroom and tried out the combo, and it fit like a glove. My decision was made; I was gonna be married in pants.”
THE SUIT “I wanted my outfit to be composed of different pieces that I could wear again in my daily life, so my search was long. One day, I accompanied Marie to a dress fitting in a shop called the Petites jupes de prunes. Walking around the shop, I fell in love with the pants that I ended up wearing. Whilst Marie didn’t choose a dress from this shop, I found the first piece of my wedding outfit. For the shirt, I found a brand called Girafon Bleu. They have an urban style and an eco-friendly sustainable approach to their designs that I found matched well with my pants, and on the plus side, they use part of the benefits from the sales to help endangered giraffes.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “A special thanks to Valentine, the photographer of our wedding. She was amazing, and with her great work, we have great memories of our wedding. She really managed to capture the essence of our day, with a combination of candid moments giving us lively and dynamic memories and others more formal, making sure we had everyone who attended. She followed us during the whole day, taking pictures of the intimate moments and the more formal ones, immortalising for us what is the best day of our lives.”
