These two were only engaged for three months! And managed to pull off an incredible wedding, right? Right! After “Dan absolutely cleaned the floor with the proposal,” raves the bride, she pulled out the gown she’d bought five years prior (make sure you scroll down for the details on this!) and viola, they tied the knot! Fast game is a good game, people! Daniel Milligan Photography was there to shoot it, so scroll down for all the pics…

THE INSPO “There wasn’t a huge themed focus – I just chose elements that I loved. The colour scheme was developed when I was shopping with my bridesmaids on Bridge Road in Richmond and we found a shop that sold lovely cosy knits in the colour pallet I liked. I bought seven and everyone chose their colour and then matched their dress to the colour of the jumper. It was so much easier than asking everyone to find and choose a dress somewhere within a certain colour pallet – avoided everyone getting the same tone!”

FAVE DETAILS “The thing that ended up taking my breath away on the wedding day was actually the atmosphere – not the details (or the incredibly high standard of all of the vendors – who were all absolutely amazing). As I walked down the aisle the sun broke through the old bluestone framed window and shone directly onto the wedding aisle. It was truly breathtaking and felt almost spiritual.”

THE DRESS “I actually bought it two weeks before I met Dan! [Five years prior to getting married!] My sister was getting married and we went to a sample sale together with my Mum. I saw the dress and secretly loved it, but obviously had no reason to try it on. Mum noticed it and immediately commented that it would be a great dress for when I got married. Despite the obvious ridiculousness of it, I did try it on and had this overwhelming feeling that it was my wedding dress so I bought it! When I pulled it out of my cupboard five years later it was still perfect and I was so thrilled to have already chosen it.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Relax about the details and relish the process! It is so much fun planning a wedding. It’s not the details that will make the day.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “I loved planning the wedding, the engagement party and all the associated celebrations and doing it with so many close friends in our bridal parties was an absolute dream and made the process so fun. We managed to squeeze an engagement party for about 150 people, an epic hens party (complete with afternoon tea, a hip hop dance class, and dinner on a rooftop in Richmond) and a bucks camping trip on the great ocean road into our 12-week engagement so we did pretty well!”
