Sydney-siders, Eliza and Luke came across their Sunny Coast wedding venue and couldn’t get over how great it was. The staff were a standout, the ceremony set up was stunning (as was that dress) and one of our all-time fave photographers, Janneke Storm, was there to catch the good feels on camera. So scroll down for all the pics, details from the couple (as well as some sound advice) and a vendor list to boot!

LITTLE LOLWe decided to have dance lessons and the motivation to do so started out as wanting a few basic steps with no real dance routine in mind. The first lesson was learning fairly basic stuff (we hadn’t even picked a song yet). On the second lesson, however, we were mucking around trying out different songs when Luke decided it would be funny to flip me. The dance teacher got very excited that he could do that, so we ended up doing a fully choreographed dance to ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ by Queen that ended in a flip!”

THE VENUEWe couldn’t get passed how perfect Maleny Manor was. From the moment we got engaged we knew we wanted to get married at a venue that did everything; the ceremony, garden party and reception. Maleny Manor offered just that and more. The staff were so incredibly kind and welcoming. Their professionalism and expertise truly showed on the day – everything went so smoothly! We are still getting compliments from guests saying how beautiful the venue was, how professional the staff were and how delicious all the food was!”

THE INSPOWe wanted our wedding to encompass the beauty of Maleny with a touch of modern elegance that complimented the Manor. We drew inspiration from Zavion Kotze’s wedding with lots of modern crisp white accents, dark green foliage with a hint of yellow-gold decor. We also loved the luxe idea of a marquee style reception by candlelight with a live band for the perfect party atmosphere.”

FAVE DETAILSWe were blown away to see every element come together from the ceremony to inside our reception space, and then inside the Manor for dancing – it was better than we could have ever hoped for! But, if we were to pick one detail, it would have to be the flowers. From the bouquets to the floral circle, hanging foliage and table arrangements, Mondo Floral Designs created something of absolute beauty.”

THE DRESSThe dress was the very first thing I picked! For me, it was the easiest part of the wedding process. I have always loved Pallas Couture and was so thrilled that I could end up with one of their dresses for the day. I also do love to dance and knew I would want to be up on the dance floor for most of the night, so decided on switching into something more free-flowing from Bronx and Banco. I’m really glad I had a second dress to change into. I was comfortable, could do a fun wedding dance (involving flips) and was able to keep up with everyone else on the dance floor.”

A WORD OF ADVICEWe would highly recommend for any couple planning a destination style wedding to do your research when it comes to vendors and read the reviews. Also, trust your vendors’ advice and recommendations because they know what works/ what doesn’t for that style of wedding in that location. We heavily relied on ours in this regard and they did not disappoint!”
