Meet Erin and Nick guys, parents to two cute human children and one fur baby and all-round wholesome peeps. This sassy lass is a marriage celebrant, so when it comes to weddings she’s a bit of a connoisseur. Hence this pristine and quirky good-times only day. THE VIBE “Party like we are 20 with no kids. Ha! Most of our pals have kids and we can rarely all get together so we really wanted it to just be one big kid-free celebration. We even shipped our own kids and sausage dog, Frankie, off after the ceremony. They were stoked because our babysitter got them Maccas. We didn’t want any formalities so ditched all tradition except for speeches. We also wanted to spend as much of our day together, and with our guests, as possible.”

THE JUMPSUIT “I live in jumpsuits. They always make me feel like a boss so it was a no brainer as to what I would wear on the day. I was inspired by a Viktor and Rolf wedding jumpsuit and took my ideas to Isabella [Isabella Longginou] who ran with it and created my dreamy outfit! I had three fittings and the whole thing took about six weeks. She made it so easy and took on board everything I asked for.”

LITTLE LOL “Our beautiful celebrant Jo [Big Love Ceremonies], who wore sequinned heels and jacket at my request, came out to see Nick and I just before we were about to walk down the aisle. She immediately started crying which made Nick well up too. I had to tell her to get her shit together. She well and truly nailed the ceremony. I loved how invested in it she was. She really captured us perfectly.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “First look!! Best idea. We had beers together and ate hot chips in Winn Lane. We got to chat, laugh and check out how babin’ we both looked. The most common misconception with a first look is that you miss “that moment” down the aisle. We still cried and laughed our way through the ceremony. It was just as special as if we hadn’t seen each other before. Also: include your dog if you can. We had someone drop her off and pick her up. It was important to me that she was in the photos.”

STANDOUT VENDORSKate Dawes was amazing. She did all of our flowers. I will never forget her face when I gave her the colours I wanted and then told her to “Go wild!”. Her eyes lit up and she said, “So how do you feel about feathers?”. I left seeing my bouquet as a surprise on the day and couldn’t get over how magical it was. She even mirrored the gold spots on my jumpsuit in the ribbon around the stems. And of course, Ash [Stories By Ash]. I’ve always been a huge admirer of hers. I love working with her and now consider her a friend. She’s such a calming presence and nails every shot she takes. Her ability to capture even the smallest of moments is genius. I’m blown away by our photos of the day. I even said to Nick, “Oh my god we look like the couples I marry – like so in love!” to which he replied, “We ARE in love.” But y’know, he got what I meant.”
