These two legends were engaged for a solid 18 months. In that time they managed to plan a sensational wedding, bought a house and went on a 10 week trip through Central and South America. Upon hearing this, we were a tad impressed and even more stoked to learn that Erika sourced her gorge gown from our local love, Hope x Page. But the divine details don’t end there. Scroll down for the moodiest florals of them all (courtesy of Film and Foliage), one heck of a Grew & Co engagement ring and the sweetest snaps by the lovely Dane of The Salty Shutter

FAVOURITE DETAILS “The flowers by Ash at Film and Foliage were so beautiful. I wanted them to be quite moody and wild, with a pop of colour, and they looked absolutely stunning in The White Room. The bouquets were perfect and the inclusion of the orange flowers looked so nice against my bridesmaid’s black dresses.”

THE DRESS “The one thing my dress had to have was long sleeves and embellishments. I had done a lot of research to find a brand that was within my budget but also one that suited my personality and style and that brand, I discovered, was Bo & Luca. It just so happened that I stumbled across a Bo & Luca trunk show at Hope x Page bridal boutique in Sydney which I booked into. The dress that I thought I would like, did not suit me at all, so, my sisters convinced me to try on a two-piece and I loved it.”

A TOUCH OF TRADITION “We tracked down old wedding photos or our grandparents and parents and had them displayed at our ceremony and reception.”

LITTLE LOL “Mat has a pretty funny story of him and his groomsmen getting ready. This is how he describes it: ‘My groomsmen were definitely questioning my decision to go with the self-tie bow ties. Twenty minutes before we had to leave, we were all standing in the hotel room staring at the google ‘how to’ page. By the time we figured it out none of us could actually get fully dressed because of the amount of sweat that was pouring out of us. We had to sit there in front of the air-con, with a cold beer, until the very last minute just to cool down from the stress of it all.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “We are so glad we had an indoor ceremony. We wanted the day to be as stress-free as possible and we didn’t want to have to worry about the weather. Having it indoors also made it feel so intimate and special. It was also a perfect way to mingle with our guests straight after the ceremony, enjoy a champagne and eat some cheese!”

STANDOUT VENDORS “All of our vendors were amazing. I am so glad I came across The Salty Shutter on Instagram. He was awesome. I don’t even remember seeing him most of the day and we are blown away by the photos. He also gave us a nice little surprise at the end of the night which made us so happy!”
