Weddings now come in all different shapes and sizes, and for Ella and Ted, a relaxed seaside celebration was the perfect fit. “We really wanted a relaxed and casual feel for the wedding, as if we’d just invited our closest friends and family over for drinks and dinner at our house. We also love the beach so Watsons Bay Hotel’s location and Hamptons beach house style was the perfect venue”, says Ella who wore a simple yet stunning Nicole Miller gown from The Wedding Boutique.
Honouring their wish to host their ceremony outside, Mother Nature stepped things up, providing sunshine and clear blue skies for their day of good times while photographer Gui Jorge was there to capture every magical moment, namely their first dance. “Our favourite moment would have to be the final minutes of our first dance. We had everyone singing along with hands in the air to Frank Sinatra’s £New York, New York, our grandparents included”, says Ella who had spent many days in the lead up to the wedding doing jobs.
“Our invitations were white card with my handwriting gold foiled so I wanted to replicate this look for our name tags and table numbers. For guest name tags, I bought white stones from Bunnings and hand wrote their names using gold marker. For our table numbers, I researched online and found gold foil rolls that you can bind to laser printed paper using a laminator. So I hand wrote each table number, gold foiled them and displayed them in white frames.” A day filled with plenty of detail, even their cake was a lovely looking piece of art. “We wanted to support local businesses who we had a link to; our cake, rings and flowers were all supplied by friends of friends.”
