What does marriage mean to Daniel and Adam? “It’s the little things like alternating being the big and little spoon, being a goof to make each other laugh, fighting over who has to clean up after the dogs and sharing a sock draw.” You can see why we like them, already, right? They go on to explain they drew inspiration for the day from The Titanic, an “elegant, classic and somewhat modern” wedding and boy did they get it. They enlisted the help of North St Botanical to decorate with those glorious florals and the trio of cakes was thanks to one of our go-to’s, Miss Ladybird Cakes. FAVE DETAILS “The invites Adam designed were flawless as he is a perfectionist. The flowers were stunning with the mix of dark moody colours with pops of soft pinks along with the shapes and textures which the amazing North St Botanical incorporated. Cam of Anchor and Hope was brilliant to have with us on the day as our photographer, not only because he captured some truly amazing moments, but he also allowed us to relax, some of the most beautiful moments were while we weren’t even aware.”
THE SUITS “P. Johnson was recommended to us by one of our good friends who got married in March. So we booked in a consultation with Andre – he was super relaxed asked us our vision then discussed our options very professional but made it feel reasonably casual, even offering us a beer – we were sold! A month later we got measured up, six weeks after that we had our first fitting.”
REFERENCES “Word of mouth, Instagram – especially handy when it came to hair and makeup as we have not had that much experience in this area – and we had six groomsmaids to keep happy. It is also worth mentioning that Hello May was the ONLY wedding inspiration magazine we actually purchased and it has sat on our coffee table ever since.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “I was really surprised at how emotional I was during our first look and then walking down the aisle. I love the photos captured. [Also], we both had written our vows separately and could not believe that one of the promises was not only the same but very personal. It mentioned that ‘Adam would always allow Daniel to be the backup singer on every car ride’. [And] listening to my parent’s speech was definitely a touching moment.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Having each of our mothers walk us down the aisle – one at a time – was beautiful and I think I would have freaked doing it solo. In hindsight, a videographer would have been a good idea as the event does go past in a flash, although I am not sure how often we would watch it – so no regrets.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Makeup artists (Jodie Melissa & Natalie Jaye) were outstanding, you are with them for a big part of the morning therefore being able to engage in conversation and have a laugh is always a big plus. Cam (of Anchor and Hope) and Vicki at The George Ballroom was a legend.”
