Corynne (aka Coco) and Julian curated their Geelong nuptials from their home in the US. In step with their low-key-yet-intentional style, the couple kept wedding elements pared back to emphasise the grandeur of the scenery and venue – Campbell Point House.

What they didn’t plan for, however, was the gale force winds that gatecrashed their ceremony, resulting in a power outage during cocktail hour. “It’s funny looking back at it now (maybe less funny on the day),” the bride reflects. “My veil flew off mid walk down the aisle, our flowers were holding on for dear life, hair was flying all over our face, photos had to be done very strategically and quickly.”

Thankfully, these two had Rolan John behind the lens, who “didn’t skip a beat,” when faced with the windy rogue weather. “He quickly came up with new ideas, turned what could have been a stressful situation into something fun, and those photos ended up being some of our absolute favourites!”

“Can I see the pictures?” Oui oui babe, we got you! And trust us, the details in this one are not to be missed . Think French-estate vibes, dreamy wedding table decorations, and custom stationery featuring the newlyweds’ love notes from over the years. Magnifique!

FRENCH VIBES IN VICTORIA

“There are a ton of beautiful venues in Victoria, but ultimately, Campbell Point House had the French-estate aesthetic we were pining for, along with on-site accommodation for our family & bridal party, and proximity to Melbourne (where most of the guests were traveling from).”

CUSTOM WEDDING STATIONERY

“One of our favourite little details was the custom cocktail napkins we had made, which featured scanned love notes we had written to each other throughout our years of dating. It was such a small touch, but it felt incredibly personal and intimate, and it sparked so many sweet conversations among our guests. Another detail I absolutely loved was our signage and day-of stationery. Samantha, who designed and printed everything, was such a joy to work with – so patient, thoughtful, and truly creative. She took my Pinterest board inspiration and brought it to life in a way that exceeded all expectations. Her clean yet slightly whimsical, hand-drawn aesthetic tied everything together beautifully. One of my favourite pieces she created was a custom sketch of our venue for the welcome sign – it felt so meaningful and set the perfect tone as guests arrived. I also adored our tablescapes, which were brought to life through our centerpieces. We leaned into minimalist tones, keeping the palette in soft shades of green and white. The standout detail, though, was the addition of wild moss at the base of each arrangement. It added such a natural, organic texture but also this touch of whimsy that really elevated the entire look of the dining hall.”

A CLASSIC AUSSIE TUNE

“Our favourite memory was when our last song of the night came on (Never Tear Us Apart by INXS) and everyone got on the dancefloor and screamed the lyrics at the top of our lungs. That song has always been a special song between us as a couple but also within both our families! There was nothing better than ending the night with that moment.”

LITTLE LOL

“The morning of the wedding, all the groomsmen and the father of the groom were playing a bit of footy and when his dad went to catch the ball he heard a pop in his finger. We all chalked it up to sprain on the day and he soldiered on, but a few days later, he found out he actually broke his finger!”

DREAM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

“We honestly feel like we hit the lottery with our vendors and couldn’t have asked for a better team. Every single one of them went above and beyond for us. Our photographer, Rolan John, was a dream to work with. From the moment he arrived, he blended into the day so effortlessly, making us feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera, which is not an easy task for two people never in front of a camera! He captured the true essence of the day in such a candid and genuine way.”

Undeniable talent, legendary vibes, and proven ability to roll with the punches – Rolan John ticks a lotta boxes. Hungry for more Euro-inspired wedding styling inspiration? Click here.
