Engaged for a solid 18 months that “felt like two minutes”, Caitlyn and Matt’s elegant day was just the prelude to their biggest adventure yet, becoming parents to their little man. Bride Caitlyn had a custom dress in the works but when she found out she was pregnant decided to rock a coloured Zimmermann number. Serious mum-to-be bridal inspo here! THE VIBE “I knew I wanted an all-white colour scheme, something simple and timeless, and that our day should feel relaxed and romantic with lots of flowers. And of course, I had the whole collection of Pinterest boards that I’d started when I was 12 (just kidding!). Wedding dress, wedding flowers, wedding reception, wedding ceremony, wedding grazing table- the whole thing! Ha!”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “The flowers definitely. I actually worked at The White Bungalow for a long time so the florist who did all our flowers was a close friend. I never really got to take the time to appreciate them on the day but when we got all our wedding photos back I felt so emotional seeing what she’d created. They were such a dream come true. All the tables at the end of the night were left bare because the guests stole all the arrangements!”

REFERENCES “I literally stalked the Hello May blog every few weeks checking for weddings in our area. I swear I went all the way back to real weddings from 2014. Otherwise, Google really was my best friend.”

FAVOURITE MOMENT “We found out the gender of our baby just before the wedding and secretly organised confetti cannons for the end of our speech as Mr & Mrs. When we let off the blue confetti everyone was crying and screaming, it was the perfect chance to surprise everyone we loved with our babe’s gender.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Janneke, duh! I swear that woman has superpowers. Looking back at our photos made everything so worth it. She captured so much emotion that on the day was such a blur for us. To sit down a few months later and relive every little detail was magic.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “There are things that definitely won’t go to plan… it may not be as extreme for you as finding out you’re having a babe or chipping your tooth in half the night before the wedding but remember why you’re on this crazy journey in the first place. For me, it turned out to be the perfect way to celebrate our next chapter as a growing family and marry the man of my dreams in front of everyone we love.”
