Can you tell this loved-up duo have been together since they were 16 years old? “We are high school sweethearts,” reveals Britt. They also had a father-daughter dance that turned into a flash mob (yes, it was choreographed) and you can see why we liked this couple, right? Lovely lens lady Madeline Kate was there to shoot the gorgeous, fun-filled wedding and thanks to her, you can scroll down for all the pics below, plus a chat with the couple…

THE VENUE “We actually thought we wanted to get married in Bali or a winery in Rutherglen as they were places we spend a lot of time, but after exploring and viewing venues we just couldn’t find the right fit. My mum actually found Encore St Kilda Beach. As soon as Zac and I walked in the door we looked at each other and knew it was perfect. Mums are always right!”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “We loved our mesh floral wall with neon sign (by Electric Confetti) –  it set a backdrop for the whole day and night. Our flowers by Helen of Flower Head Events were stunning and she hit our brief perfectly. All the guests commented on the food from Encore St Kilda Beach – extended canapés and the feasting option = very happy tummies!”

THE DRESS “We only went out the one day and went to three boutiques. I was actually really surprised with what I fell in love with. Mariana Hardwick was the first place we went, my dress was the second dress I tried on, to which I then compared every other dress. The Nahla gown was fitted, sparkled like crazy and had a split perfect for dancing. It made me feel special and fit our party vibe perfectly!”

REFERENCES “A lot of vendors we found were through weddings we’d been to, word of mouth and Instagram. I found a lot of inspiration from Hello May, as my mum bought me the new issue each time it was released, so I’ve now got a nice pile on my coffee table.”

FAVOURITE MEMORY “To our surprise, one of our most favourite parts of the day was the photography session with Madeline Kate. We thought we’d want to get back to the reception, but it was so much fun! Maddie’s sister had a speaker in her backpack so we just grabbed some drinks and danced around St Kilda while they captured it all.”

CUTE CUSTOM “We had our mums as the witnesses of our marriage. They are both so important to us and we wanted to incorporate them into our day in their own special way. My Nan passed away in 2014 and she was a big part of my life. At my christening, she had given me a bonnet to wear and on the wedding day my mum gave me a note detailing my something “old” was the bonnet my nan had given me that was able to be converted into a handkerchief.”

STANDOUT VENDOR “A special mention though has to go to our photographer Madeline Kate – we love her! She was so amazing in the lead up and on the day, we are still even in contact with her now. We can’t wait to catch up for Mexican and drinks to celebrate making it into Hello May!”
