Britt would love to say she was surprised by Nick’s proposal, but he kinda gave it away… “When Nick ‘casually’ brought home a ring sizer and asked me to work out my size it became very obvious he was going to propose soon!” the bride tells us.

“We are so glad we decided to have such a small, intimate wedding,” shares Britt. “As it was just our closest family and friends, we were able to really let loose, relax and have fun!” And isn’t that what it’s all about, folks?!
THE VENUE “After looking at a few venues and scouring the internet for cool spots, we finally landed on Moana Hall. We fell in love straightaway with the beautiful exposed walls and architecture. The contrast of the modern bar with the soft features of the building and the art deco aesthetic fit our vibes perfectly!”
THE THEME “We were inspired by the ’60s and Las Vegas-style weddings, and wanted to create a whimsical, mid-century dreamscape with splashes of colour.”
FAVE DETAILS “The personalised limoncello bottles we made for each guest. They served as both place cards and wedding favours and were a hit!”
THE DRESS “I really struggled to find anything in my size that I liked. During this time I was struggling with the extreme bloating that comes with having endometriosis and I wanted to feel comfortable in my dress. Eventually I decided that the only way I was going to find something I liked was to design it myself. I took inspiration from ’60s weddings, crazy Las Vegas elopement outfits and romantic modern styles. When I met with Katie from Loui Col Designs it was clear she understood my vision and we worked together to design my dress. I am so happy I decided to get my dress made as I loved the process and got to see my dream dress come to life! Not only did I feel super comfortable but I also felt so beautiful because the dress was 100% me!”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “For our first dance we decided to skip the professional dance lessons and instead try and recreate the dance scene in Saturday Night Fever. We spent hours watching YouTube videos and attempting to choreograph the dance together – neither of us being great dancers and one of us (not saying who) who couldn’t quite ‘feel the beat’. When it came to our wedding day we were both so nervous that all of our carefully practiced moves went out the window and we made so many mistakes. Luckily our guests were the best hype squad we could have ever asked for and were cheering us on, clapping and laughing at our outrageous moves!”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our caterers, Heyder & Shears, were a definite standout! They went above and beyond to design a completely vegetarian menu for us that was super interesting and full of unique flavours. We had so many compliments on the food, with many people telling us that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding! Our photographer Kath Young Photography also blew us away. From the get-go she was organised and completely on board with our crazy ideas! Kath perfectly captured not only our style and aesthetic but also our personalities. Working with her was easy and she made us both feel super comfortable in front of the camera.”
