Lovely readers, if you adore the film Amelie as much as we do then you might just want to read on. Everything from the proposal through to the big day itself reflects the oh so sweet romance of this couples favourite film. Ramiz proposed to Bojana whilst listening to the soft serenading tones of a violinist busker. The couple were sipping lattes and sharing a chocolate twist under an umbrella when Ramiz popped the question. See?! Amelie eat your heart out. One of our fave up and coming Melbourne photographers, the lovely Rolan John, was there to capture the even more romantic big day. Scroll down for the details…

THE VENUE “We only saw one place beforehand and then started browsing for options with more of a rustic and European aesthetic. Montsalvat ticked all the right boxes.”

THE VIBE “There was no particular theme however the gothic romance of the venue made it all seem surreal as if it was a movie. Naturally, we decided to use a movie soundtrack from Amelie to set the scene of our ceremony and celebrations. We both love the movie and the music and it was all very fitting.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “Our rings were our favourite detail. We decided to have the rings custom made by the jeweller Suzi Zutic, who also made my engagement ring. Around June ’18, we started to communicate and share ideas on potential wedding bands with intentions that we would be getting married at some point in time. The whole process was a lot of fun and sparked excitement that one day we would get married.”

DIY…”Our invitations were written by Dad who has mesmerising handwriting. I added sketches of my take on red banksias.”

THE DRESS “I was desperately hoping that mum would agree to make my wedding dress however that did not eventuate and I ended up searching online. I knew in my mind what type of dress I was after and as soon as I came across Laure de Sagazan I scrolled through the collections and fell in love. Carte Blanche was going to showcase a collection of dresses in a weeks’ time. It was a Sunday night and I mentioned to Mum that the trunk show was this upcoming weekend. With luck at my side, I ended up getting the second last appointment that was left. It may have been the quickest I have ever bought a garment.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Kept it intimate and did what we wanted to do, not what others wanted to do.”
