After searching high and low for the perfect low-key country hall, Ashleigh and Sam happily settled on Ewingsdale Hall in Byron Bay. “We picked Byron for it’s beauty and it’s convenience. The hall was so well loved and looked after, with a gorgeous little church and plenty of lawn for games,” explains the bride, who says that their celebrant was definitely a standout vendor.

“Michelle was also amazing, the ceremony was probably our favourite part of the whole day. It was so emotional. I don’t think there was a dry eye out there. She is truly such a beautiful woman. She even gave us a lift to the practice ceremony the day before when our car wouldn’t start  what a legend!”

Captured by Carly Tia Photography, the pair (self-confessed “low-key people”) stayed true to their personalities and kept things super simple. “Nothing was really original’ but it was all very us. I love Christmas, so of course, there was a TON of fairy lights. Everything was a little mismatched and very understated, much like us. I guess if I gave it a theme it would be, eclectic DIY’ maybe?”

Having been together for a whopping 10 years before tying the knot, the newlyweds say that their marriage hasn’t changed much at all. “This wedding was really more a celebration of our everlasting love. An excuse for a big party really!”
