THE PROPOSAL “After years of travelling to some incredible locations around the world, Josh finally proposed on a lazy, hungover Sunday afternoon in our living room with my gorgeous old pug, Ned. To top off the night, Josh came down with food poisoning from our takeout burgers. A Sunday evening we will not forget!”
LITTLE LOL “Josh and his convoy of mates decided to take the road trip from Newcastle to Yulara (Uluru)… a road trip along the wildest goat track possible. A week of eating nothing but sausages and beer. No showers – just a quick dip in a muddy dam. Running so low on fuel with no station for miles – they had to syphon diesel from an old tractor on the roadside and leave cash under the seat. No phone service or people for days! It’s fair to say, this so far, ‘relaxed’ bride finally tipped! He made it just in the nick of time to pick me up from the airport in Yulara. Although he was covered in dust and flies and sporting a very sticky odour, I couldn’t wait to get this desert wedding party started and marry my best friend!”
THE VENUE “We have such a love for travel and initially a very big desire to elope. As marriage came closer, we realised how much we wanted to share this moment with our closest friends and family. Uluru was so high on our bucket list – who wouldn’t want to get married in the heart of our beautiful country! Knowing how affected the tourism industry had been since the pandemic began, we had a real urge to support such a beautiful remote community. Planning an interstate wedding during COVID, in a state neither of us had travelled, was a little on the risky side, but so worth it!”
THE INSPO “Australian desert party! Sharing our nuptials in the presence of our closest friends and family on a dune top overlooking Uluru and Kata Tjuta, a buffet of delicious Australian-inspired cuisine, dancing the night away, in the desert beneath a full moon, sky full of stars, the shadow of Uluru and red sand between our toes – was beyond incredible!”
FAVE DETAILS “I really loved our dried native bouquets which were perfectly complimented by the native flora bow tie and tie by Peggy & Finn.”
MARRIAGE MEANS “A commitment of my deepest love to my best friend, in return for a lifetime of filling up my wine glass and endless back cuddles! To us, our marriage is the creation of a safe place for us both to continue sharing our love, laughter and tears throughout life’s journey and a commitment of support until the very end.”

Bonnie checked in on so many occasions purely just to see how we were coping and offering her assistance wherever she could – not necessarily photography related. Even connecting us with our incredibly talented videographer, James (of Anchored Cinema). Bonnie, her partner Steve and James worked their butts off for us along this journey. They make an incredible team and we genuinely enjoyed having them along for the ride.”
