Colour and music were the main focus for Annabel and Will when planning their wedding  at Mitchelton Winery in Nagambie – one-and-a-half hours from Melbourne. They had these words of wisdom to share: “Sound plays an important role in the type of vibe you want to set. Pick your vendors wisely. Our advice? 70s disco is the ultimate party starter!” LOVE it!

They also hooked up with some seriously talented peeps to bring the dream to life  – shoutout to  Luci Di Bella for Annabel’s gorg gown, Bared Footwear for the perfect pumps and the fabulous Miranda Stokkel, one of our fave photographers around. Check out these here snaps and tell us we’re wrong… (trust us, we’re not!)

THE INSPO “We wanted our wedding to be a true representation of us as a couple, and so the overall theme of the wedding was focused on vibrant colour, a celebration of love and a heaving dancefloor. Our stylist Cassie Smith nailed the brief when she presented us with the overall colour scheme and we had so much fun working together to see the vision come to life. We were so lucky to have our good friends as our DJs, Naive Fantas, to take care of the tunes for our reception as they perfectly chose music to match the energy of the day. The dancefloor was going off at the end of the night!”

THE DRESS “My mum and I went to a few bridal shops, but it felt a little bit like dress-up and I couldn’t envisage wearing any of the dresses. We then went to Luci Di Bella and as soon as we stepped into the space, we knew that we would find a dress there. Once I had found a dress and had *that* feeling, Luci made the whole process a dream! As the dress was made from scratch just for me, I felt really comfortable and most importantly the dress perfectly matches my overall style. I couldn’t wait to wear it on our big day.”

FAVE DEETSHonesty Flora sourced some of the most beautiful flowers we had ever seen! Almost everybody at the wedding commented on just how amazing the flowers were. It was amazing to see Cassie and Tegan from Honesty Flora work together on this project, as their extensive knowledge and love of flowers was seriously impressive

MEMORABLE MOMENT “We decided to go old-school and spend the night before a part. While some people thought that it was unnecessary, it meant that we were actually really excited to see each other for our first look. We both agreed that this was our favourite moment from the day, as it was a moment for just the two of us to be together and prepare for the big moments ahead. Will found this particularly helpful as he was able to get some tears out, and I was super excited to show Will my dress. We love the photos that Miranda Stokkel captured of this moment between the two of us.”

TOUCH OF TRADITION “We asked Annabel’s aunty to do an Acknowledgement of Country to begin our ceremony. As our wedding was held on the banks of the Goulburn River, it felt particularly important to recognise the Taungurung people, the Traditional Owners, and the care they have had for the land for thousands of years. We also had a photo tribute to our grandparents, which was visible to guests as they entered the reception space. With only Annabel’s maternal grandparent Elva attending, we wanted to honour our grandparents who were unable to be with us on the day.”

STANDOUT VENDORSMiranda Stokkel was incredible! She was the perfect person to capture our day as she is so easygoing, down to earth and a complete professional at her craft. We have had an overwhelming amount of people come up to us to say how amazing our photos are, which is a true testament to Miranda’s skills. We feel immensely fortunate to have had Miranda as our photographer, as she beautifully encapsulated the essence and emotions of everyone on the day.”

Annabel and Will had a seriously talented bunch help make their day this phenom, and we can  personally rec some of these amazing peeps, who you’ll find on our directory. Hit up the marvellous Miranda Stokkel for pics, Luci De Bella Design House for stunning gowns, and Bared Footwear for comfy (and stylish) big-day shoes.
