In South Australia’s beautiful Barossa Valley, Anitha, dressed in Paolo Sebastian, and James, suited up in Oscar Hunt Tailors, became Mr and Mrs in front of over 200 of their favourite people. It was an explosion of colour and florals and all-round happy vibes. Thankfully, our friends Trent & Jessie were there to capture all the best bits, including the pumping d-floor courtesy of the legendary Baker Boys Band. Scroll down to see.
THE THEME “Colour, colour and more colour! I am Indian and James is Bulgarian so we have grown up with a lot of colour in our culture. We wanted to feel like we were celebrating under the stars with our favourite people in an explosion of colour and endless flowers.”
FAVE DEETS “The flowers and beautiful invitations, signs and menus all from Hygge Studio. From the most epic arbour I’ve ever seen, to our dancefloor bordered by flowers making us feel like we were dancing in a garden, to our hanging domes adorned in flowers to our deconstructed bouquets, it was so perfect. And I loved the hand-drawn invitations, menu and signs with delicate, flowing wildflowers that matched our real flowers on the day.”
THE DRESS “My dress was made by the talented Paul Vasileff aka Paolo Sebastian. I had always loved his dresses but never dreamt that one day I would be wearing one. Adelaide is a small city and the Bulgarian community is even smaller. When it came down to talking about the dress, James’s father insisted that I go with Paolo Sebastian as Paul’s father was his own groomsman so it was sentimental to him. In saying that I really didn’t need much convincing!”
THE SUIT “James and his groomsmens’ suits were all from Oscar Hunt Tailors. We worked with Stephen from Oscar Hunt in Adelaide and he made the process seamless and easy. The best part was that they have tailors all over Australia and the world so the groomsman living interstate and overseas were able to get fitted easily.”
WE’RE SO GLAD WE… “Spent the night before the wedding together. Although it is not traditional we loved having a few last moments just the two of us before we became husband and wife. We are also glad that we had both an Indian and a Western wedding. Although we were exhausted by the end after a week of celebrations it was so special being able to also do a traditional Hindu celebration in the days before our Western wedding.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographers Trent & Jessie were phenomenal. We vibed with them straight away and they provided the most calming presence and somehow made two camera shy people feel comfortable and confident in front of the lens. They manage to capture the beauty in everything whilst keeping the vibe light, colourful, romantic and pretty. The photos and videos turned out better than we could’ve imaged. We are still struggling to pick our favourite ones to print and frame!”
