As much as Amy resisted Dan’s idea of a wedding on his family’s newly purchased property, when she saw it on a November day, newly renovated, the bride says, “It was warm, sunny, lush and inviting and Daron and Jodi had already got stuck into it in getting it how they wanted it. By the end of our visit I was the one asking if we could get married there.”
The couple seized the opportunity to create the style of wedding they wanted from the ground up using it as a “blank canvas”, and there was no looking back. Amy says that the marquee supplied by Ivory Lane Event and Styling was her favourite detail and what made the event unique compared to a traditional venue, which is what she initially had in mind. “I loved that it wasn’t a traditional white, rectangle marquee with panels all the way around it. It was open, it was grand and without it the entire atmosphere of the day I was trying to create wouldn’t have been achievable. It truly is one of a kind and is a revolution to the traditional marquees.”
With his crisp, high-contrast photographic style, Dean Snushall Photography captured the magic of the day. Dressed in a boho off-the-shoulder Grace Loves Lace bridal gown alongside her beau Dan of ten years who wore Wood & Bow Suspenders, Amy cherished the intimate shoot with just the two of them the most. “My favourite moment of the day was when Dan and I were getting photos done with just the two of us. It was quiet and peaceful and it felt like nobody was around. It was time in the day were we got to just be together through the chaos leading up to the wedding and thinking ‘holy shit we just got married’. It’s a surreal feeling and it’s a feeling I will never forget.”
Surrounded by calming hues of natural greens and rustic whites, the couple kicked off the celebrations with an unplanned first dance thanks to the coercion of their MC and chanting guests, and continued to party with their two kids, family and friends under the remote country night sky.
