Say hello to Amy and Casey, guys. You can literally feel their love leaping out of these pics (taken by the talented Rolan John Photo, no less) and thanks to the long list of incredible vendors they had help bring their dream day to life (Bloom Boy, Lola Varma, M.J. Bale and Fourside Food Design and Events to name a few), it’s safe to say the wedding was a success. Scroll down for all the deets…
THE VENUE “We only saw Glasshaus and knew it was right for us. We wanted an easy to get to venue that was relaxed, and we could have our choice of vendors there. This meant it really felt like us.”
THE INSPO “We just wanted good food, drinks and music and for our guests to feel happy. I styled the tables with fruit: oranges, ruby grapefruit, apricots and pomegranates and candles to match. I spent a lot of time on my grandparents’ orange farm as a child and I have always loved how fruit looks on a table, it makes me feel nurtured and happy.”
FAVE DETAILS “The flowers were absolutely the best. I asked Ross of Bloom Boy if he could run with inspiration of flowers from Star Trek and Hobbiton cottage gardens. I sent him a few photos and he completely understood my weird request. I told him the colours and flowers I liked and then he ran with it and surprised me with the most incredible box of bouquets I have ever seen. You know when you get so happy you want to kick something or punch the air? Well, he did that to me! I had to control myself.”
THE DRESS “I wasn’t initially going to get a wedding dress. I couldn’t find any that I truly liked in my price range. Then I found the Lotta Gown by Lola Varma. It was the first wedding dress I saved a photo of and the first wedding dress I tried on. Casey also got the first suit he tried on (M.J. Bale) and it happened to be called the Saunders which is my last name. I think it was serendipitous that it would work out that way.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Stuck to our plans despite multiple lockdowns and stayed confident that the wedding would happen in one way or another. Whether it was 100 people or 5, I knew it would be a magical day and it ended up being the best day of my life.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Katie and her team at Fourside Food Design and Events were so organised, helpful and genuinely kind. Katie was also so fabulous in being flexible in the lead up with all the ups and downs through COVID. The vegan menu was beautiful, and the canapes were AMAZING. I love that they took the time and care to make sure I was eating and drinking throughout the night. Rolan John Photo was everywhere and nowhere all at once, you don’t see him and then BAM he is there taking the most beautiful candid snaps. He makes you feel really safe and comfortable. He wrangled us all really well to get the photos we needed and then 100s more. Rol does everything with a smile and he will make you feel really relaxed. And the team at Glasshaus had it all under control.”
