These two sweet lovers met over six years ago whilst Amelia was in Melbourne for a seachange. One look at Tom and she never left! The loved-up duo settled on rustic vibes for their big day after finding their venue on Instagram. Autumn colour palette for the win! Decked out in Juliette Hogan and M.J. Bale, the cosy feels aren’t the only thing giving us heart eyes. For Maple and June’s lovely captures, you best get scrolling…

THE VENUE “We were really open about the location of our wedding. We Google searched far and wide in both New Zealand and Australia. We wanted a venue we could make our own and we wanted a relaxed feel but at the same time, we wanted something original. We found Butterland through Instagram. The images exhibiting Katie Marx floristry and the rustic, industrial space won our hearts.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “We were absolutely in awe of our floristry. We adored the way Katie could run with our colour palette and develop something so original. She transformed the entire space into a work of art. She put thought into every little detail, from the giant floral arch to the hanging floristry over the table.”

THE DRESS “Finding a dress made in New Zealand was a non-negotiable for me. Not only did I want to feel connected to home as I walked down the aisle, it felt important to support a talented New Zealand designer. My Juliette Hogan dress had elegance and simplicity and was a timeless piece. I fell in love with the sequined fabric and the unique silhouette.”

LITTLE LOL “Just a few hours before the wedding, one of Tom’s groomsmen realised he had forgotten to bring along his cufflinks. After a bit of toing and froing about what to do, we realised that there was an op shop magically located right next door to the bridal house. Uncertain on whether he would be able to find any cufflinks being quite a small shop, we were all relieved when he came back to the house saying he had managed to buy the one and only pair in the store. At this point, he had a pretty cheeky grin on his face and it was only after he showed us the cufflinks we realised why. Engraved in large, clear text were the words ‘Father of the Bride’.”

WE’RE GLAD WE “From the get go, we were really keen on having a location wedding where all the guests could come together for the weekend. This was something we had experienced at other weddings and it is such an amazing way to catch up and celebrate with everyone (which you don’t get enough time to do on the day). On Friday night we booked out the Shedshaker Brewery in Castlemaine and gathered all the guests together in a more informal setting, which was great for all the guests to mingle, meet and catch up before the big day.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “We cannot speak highly enough of our caterers on the day, Monsieur Pierre. Their staff truly were amazing and everyone commented on how exceptional the level of service was. Their food was absolutely delicious! Also, Katie and Greg from our venue, Butterland, were an absolute dream to deal with. They were on top of EVERYTHING and their laid-back nature made Tom and I very relaxed on the day.”
