Who amongst us would say no to starting their marriage enveloped in a field of daisies? Here at Hello May, we certainly wouldn’t. And neither did Jess and Evan when they stumbled upon the most beautiful field of the simple flowers with their photographers It’s Beautiful Here.
It was perfectly suited to their loose theme of a relaxed country garden-style affair. Married in country Victoria, they said, £We wanted to make sure that the day was relaxing and enjoyable for our guests so we sought a location, venue and style which would suit something like that. Jess found the venue, a former Catholic chapel – turned guesthouse – online. It was the first and only venue that we looked at. Trentham which is a gorgeous little town in Victoria’s spa country had no particular meaning for us but it is so charming that the setting could hardly have been any better for what we wanted. Of course, it has lots of meaning for us now.
Having been together for 11 years – they met and started dating while working at the local ice cream shop at age 16 – Jess and Evan set out with the distinct and simple aim of creating a relaxing day for all. £The day was less about us starting a ‘new life’ together than it was about celebrating what we already have and writing a new chapter in our lives together. This was a chance for us to bring our family and closest friends together for a relaxed and beautiful day in the countryside where everyone could eat, drink, dance and be merry just for the sake of it.
And celebrate they did, with an Argentinian BBQ set up for dinner, a well-built playlist that they hired a sound engineer to set up, a little sparkling, and plenty of dancing!
