Having opened its doors in July 2024, Maroon Hill might be new on the block, but you best believe this Maroon, Queensland venue is already turning heads (including ours). The heart of Gippsland’s food and wine region is where you’ll find Mewburn Park. This historic property and working farm features delightfully chic, modern details and all the charming essentials you’d want in a country venue: a romantic entryway, a historic homestead and stables (dating back to the 1850s), inviting outdoor sanctuaries, and accommodation for the happy couple. This family-owned boutique venue/couples retreat is perched in the quaint hamlet of Mount Glorious, just 50 minutes from Brisbane. Located on the outskirts of Wagga Wagga within a historic 1860’s stone stable building, Magpies Nest is first and foremost a restaurant, and therefore a total authority in the art of deliciousness. Southern Highlands couples are going to want to take a squiz at this outback Eden, located just a short drive from Sydney. Growwild is a 25-acre flower farm specialising in native species. In other words, it’s bloomin’ gorgeous, with no shortage of picture-perfect natural backdrops for you to take advantage of. Their indoor spaces are pretty damn special too. The property offers a permanent marquee surrounded by rows and rows of flowers as well as a romantic, rustic barn with exposed timber beams. Both superb options. We first showcased this Queensland venue when featuring Georgie & Michael’s wedding, who happen to be the proud owners of this seriously spesh spot. After their own celebration, the couple built a stunningly modern, luxurious wedding venue on their family property so now others can also enjoy the gorg natural surroundings of the Ravensbourne area. Straight out of a storybook, Chatsworth House has an undeniable charm and enchanting elegance. From Melbourne, head west for about three hours and you’ll find it nestled amidst rolling hills and majestic red gum trees. They have accommodation on-site and a suite of celebration spaces for you to choose from, including the historic stable’s lawn, newly refurbished long room, and rose gardens. Set amidst Kangaroo Valley’s pristine subtropical rainforest, Wildwood is synonymous with relaxed, big-hearted celebrations. For adventurous, outdoorsy duos, it’s a must-see, especially if you’re looking for a space that’s still easy to access from the city. Nature takes centre stage here – there’s an incredible natural rock cathedral (perfect for ceremonies), a sunset deck (with breathtaking views) and a modern reception hall with views of the surrounding wilderness. Charming as they come, Lilburndale is just a hop, skip and a jump from Sydney (or about a 1.5-hour drive, to be more precise). But it feels a world away from the big smoke. This vast 1100-acre property was previously an orange orchard, and you’re likely to spot some antique citrus farming machinery peppered throughout, adding to its unique character. Kick off formalities on the front steps of ‘Lilburndale House’ – a historic sandstone homestead – and continue celebrations in The Packing Shed. Originally built in 1920, it’s an alchemy of industrial interiors and contemporary touches that can cater to up to 120 guests, canapé-style, or 100 for a sit-down dinner. Located in Toowoomba, Gabbinbar is a darling of the Queensland wedding community. Mali Brae Farm is truly a unique place to get hitched. Originally a dairy farm that fell into disrepair, the property was rescued by the Dark family who have lovingly restored every element of the property, including the mesmerising rustic ruins that you can see above, which now serve as a ceremony spot.
