Organising run sheets, designating duties, and coordinating details is nothing new for Event Manager, Lauren – so we knew planning her wedding would come naturally. £Everyone had their jobs, there was a six page run sheet – it was a little chaotic but we had fun and everyone was involved.”
Keen on music festivals, country holidays with their dogs, and listening to awesome music together, Lauren and her fiance Nick decided to combine all of their favourite things into one epic event: Wedfest. £It was really important to us to make sure that the day wasn’t just about us, and that our guests had a lot to enjoy and keep them entertained whilst always remaining true to the celebration of us as a couple, says Lauren who decided Verandahs would be the perfect venue to pull it all off.
From a Mexican photobooth game (with tequila shot prizes!) to firepits, croquet and live music, this Byron Bay wedding was truly one to remember – and thanks to photos by Bushturkey Studio, we can. Lauren and Nick even provided guests with a welcome pack, complete with festival wristbands, a timetable, and plastic Euros, inviting their guests to vote on what event they should attend on their European honeymoon.
While Little Gray Station provided much of the hire furniture, the couple took on quite a few projects of their own. Lauren explained, £Oh my goodness? pretty well everything you see in the pictures is a DIY project… from the photobooth set up, the food menu, the Mexican props, to the voting jars, the lollie ladder, the cakes, all of the signage, the amazing lighting in the trees, the cute little flower jars, all of the overall event styling?.everything really!
Though Lauren looked fabulous in her Grace Loves Gown, the bride and groom couldn’t deny their excitement once the formalities were over and it was finally time to celebrate at Wedfest. £We both agreed that one of the most special parts of the day was walking into the arena and seeing people enjoying themselves. At that point, our vision had really come to life.
